Bohs were fleeced, pure and simple, they had an edge from just after they conceded, looked likely to win after they leveled it and then to lose like that.

Only so many average performances you can get away with.
So last season we were unbeaten and brilliant but of course the begrudgers claimed it wasn’t a real title due to curtailed season - seems this year the usual suspects are now trying to create a narrative that we’re lucky, underperforming etc.

To paraphrase Bradley we don’t care ,we won , we’re top of the league, we move on

It was a peno because Danny got pushed over in the box- no need for the red card though, in my view.
Your man Burt continues to impress me, I have to say.
Also need Joey O’Brien back ASAP to organise the defence.

And Sean Gannon isn’t a wing back

I would say that on the basis of games so far, Pats and Sligo excellent Rovers third but will probably improve, they were awful tonight, saved by the Ref that they hate!.
Anybody else for fourth other than Waterford.

For a minute there I thought you were posting something serious but then you said Mandriou was pushed over and you're back on form. You had me there for a bit

Had to go check who you were on about there. Neither Harps fans nor stewards... they're Pats officials

We miss Joey OBrien almost as much as Byrne or McAniff, in my view. Hopefully he gets back soon. He is The organiser in this Rovers team. Still too early to make any seasond end predictions, so as long as Rovers keep winning whilst trying to establish a bit of form I'm not going to complain too much. If Long/Croly could instill in their team the need to play like tonight every week of the season they might actually challenge for things, but it seems to me that people like Buckley & Ward just target the Rovers games and tune out the rest of the time.

If Ward and Bucley up their game only against Rovers how do you square that with 2nd place last year but losing all our games v Rovers?

That was pretty much what Bradley said too.
Mind you would be happy with any dodgey victory myself.

Rovers should have won comfortably based on chances, Burke should have had a hat trick.
    7 to 3
Still reckon we have a lot more in us but would be good to see Joey back next week.
Finn was excelent when he came on.

Imagine telling someone a couple of years ago Cork would be 10 points behind Athlone 2nd bottom of the 1st division!
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.

Find Rovers a weird one. Great squad but even though they still manage to pull results out I don't really get the approach of accumulating and playing as many centre halves as they possibly can. Just seems to make them more stodgy than they need to be from the limited amount I've seen them.

Then again I am possibly judging them harshly against our fluid brand of total football.

"Chances" .just be a very fluid concept in South West Dublin.

Cracking game (if you enjoy that sort of thing) with **** poor defending from both sides creating easily the most end to end derby I've seen in long time.. 3-4 passes and both teams were through on goal. Rovers looked like they might run away with it in the first 10 minutes and were giving Bohs the run around but Bohs got back into the game. Chances about evened out over the 95 mins but Bohs were on top for a lot of the second to be fair to them. Burt and Tierney are smashing little players. Coote and Wilson as well. A few future hoops in there I'd say.

Soft peno but the hand went up and if its a foul then it's a red. Plenty of far worse decisions have gone Bohs way in these games. Nice that it happened very close to where Grace got sent off and conceded a peno for clearing the ball with his head. Enjoyed it immensely.

Good to see a derby that wasn't a pure scrap without any clearcut chances or decent passages of play. More in that game than the last 10 combined. More to come from that Bohs team. It won't be enough for a title challenge but they aren't interested in those apparently.

Pat's look like serious contenders with Forrester possibly the best player in the league at the moment, at least from what I've seen and heard. Not exactly happy for Pats but happy for him as he comes across as a sound lad from the recent podcast.

Only 11 games to go until we get a Rovers title.

Enjoyed that game. Long time since a team came to Tallaght (bar Milan) and really took us on like that. Delighted with the win - most fun way to win a game since it wasn't even a corner.
