Yeah heard that too. Real shame. Youse will be in trouble if do not find a replacement.
IMO Gavin no loss really.
Just heard it on Newstalk...

Gavin isn't a loss but McCourt is. Roddys retarded management gets exposed once more, what he did signing a load of players who could leave in july was idiotic.
Not as idiotic as you may think . After all there was a question mark as to whether there would be a club in July![]()
.. in which case he'd have nothing to loose by signing them for longer than until then !Originally Posted by CollegeTillIDie

In fairness you can understand why moth are moving on even if it does leave Rovers in more trouble, Weather we like it or not McCourt is probably to good for the eL, hence his move to the Scottish Premier, it's a shame that Rovers won't get a penny for him. And is Jason Gavin not moving back to England to be with his Wife and Kid ?Originally Posted by Buller
Pat McCourt was always going to Motherwell, even as far back as Feb.
Roddy Collins told him that if he signed for Rovers, he(Roddy) would sort a transfer to Motherwell for him in the summer.
So no big shock there!!
From the horses mouth by the way.
Did Gavin not sign a 2 year contract recently?![]()

Sorry to see Paddy leave but we've no choice. Fans are going to be upset to see him leave, but do you support Shamrock Rovers or Paddy McCourt?
Best of luck in the future Paddy. Hope we'll give you a nice send-off tonight. Oh, and another hat-trick would be appreciated![]()
Hmm I wouldn't be too gone on McCourt, he's the sole decent player in a team at the foot of the table but he's pathetically puny for professional football and wont find any defences as generous as Bray and Derry (indeed he's found it hard to find any other in the el as bad as those two were the day he scored hat tricks). For fans of his team he's probably a hero and a bright spot in a dark time but for those like me who saw him v Pats - my verdict would be hmmmm... spotty lightweight, marked out of it by a fat Vinny Perth, wont cut it. Sorry thats being honest about it!Originally Posted by Roo69

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

I think its a shame McCourt is off to Moterwell .Any class players from LOI are going cross channel.
Pity he's leaving - but up until 5 years ago there weren't any good young players in the league, since then the league has developed so that it can be an attractive alternative than playing lower leagues in England and now there are lots of talented players under the age of 21.
Apart from Roy Keane how many players actually moved directly from the first team of a league club to English/Scottish clubs - very few if I remember rightly.

I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"
