Not AC Milan but can't complain there when they often play 3 at the back and he's a very good option for many of his attributes to play there.

Rumours doing the rounds that Omobamidele to Forest will lead to Norwich trying to sign Cashin.

It makes a little more sense why Duffy was keeping him out of the team now.

It’s moves like this that make me question the credibility of sites lien transfer market when it comes to market value.

One country I cover is Denmark and one thing I notice when Danish players are bought for a certain value their market value automatically changes to the amount they were bought for (Kristiansen for instance was bought from Copenhagen for 14M last year by Leicester and his value automatically became 14M despite very little evidence he was worth that much on the field). Based on that you’d think a player like Omobamidele bought for 13M his value would become 13M just like Kristiansen…nah stays at 6M just like Collins and Bazunu stayed at 10m and 5M despite being bought for over double that value in their respective season…

Hasn't made the bench since joining Forest. Don't think he's injured - anyone know the story there? Didn't think he'd necessarily go straight into the starting lineup but surprised he hasn't even been on the bench.

Where did Forest get all the money to buy all these players ?

Surely it's time to Sheriff of Nottingham had a look at, where all this money has come from !

Watching some of the the pre-match chat before the City-Forest game, it was mentioned that Nottingham Forest have signed 40 players and dispensed with 50 others, just in the last three windows. That's an incredible turnover in playing staff .

Very little stability there, but you can argue it worked for them, inasmuch as they managed to stay up last season.

Of course, being born before Jan 2020, Omobamidele doesn't have to be named in their 25-man PL squad. I'd imagine he was signed more as a high-ceiling moneyball-type investment for the future. Forest have an enormous squad, with 16 players out on loan and another several senior players not registered to play in the league, and, realistically, I never expected a young player like Omobamidele to go straight into the starting eleven conversation.

It might be a while before he works his way into the first team picture there.

As a Forest fan, perhaps I can add some context to why the club signed Omobamidele and why he’s yet to feature.

It’s true the club owns a lot of footballers and many of them are centre backs. The manager, Steve Cooper, started the season with a 3-5-2 but has more recently switched to a 4-3-3. The former is the formation I believe he’d ideally like to get back to - we got promoted and started last season with three centre backs - but in the Premier League so far we have been outnumbered and struggled when playing just two central midfielders.

Omobamidele has been signed as succession planning.

Three of the centre backs on our books are out of contract in the summer and only one is likely to be offered an extension. Felipe is turning 35 and hasn’t appeared yet this season. McKenna has lost his place and will likely make use of his free agent status. Boly is old and injury prone but has been top notch so may get an extension if he keeps fit for much longer. Added to that, Worrall is in his prime, yet is still in the process of proving himself at the top level.

Omobamidele is viewed as the future partner to Murillo as the club moves forward with centre backs who are more comfortable in possession, as well as being physically capable. Cooper has a background in youth coaching and has shown with Murillo that he’s not afraid to chuck a young centre back in if he’s good enough.

I expect Omobamidele to get chances before the end of the season if Forest are in a comfortable mid table position. Alternatively, he may be loaned back to the Championship to get some football. Either way, I can assure you he won’t have been forgotten about.
