There is not a limited amount of subscribtions available. It is not a ticket service with a capacity. There is a near unlimited amount of subscriptions you could sell.
The question should how to maximise the amount of money coming in, because the outgoings will stay the roughly the same no matter how many people use the service. 10 people paying 5euro makes more money than 7 people paying 7euro, with zero extra costs for LOItv.
Again, what other streaming service works like this? Maybe a once off pay-per-view Boxing, which has plenty of build up for it, but no month long season. Nearly every other streaming service has something akin to season pass. Not having a season pass is just pure incompetence, which no-one else would do.
Obvisouly you cant go too cheap , but there definitley is a magic number which maximises the largest pool of paying customers with the largest price. Having on average 2 euro for a game might bring in the same number as those willing to pay 3 euro, but the increase in people willing to pay 3 euro for a game would offset the money made from people paying 4 euro for a game. 7 euro is far to expensive and I am willing to bet there are LOItv games with single digit paying watchers (which again is why not having a streaming pass is stupid).
To give anecdotal edvidence to tie together the price and season pass. If a season pass was offered for 100 euro (very cheap by all means, like 55cent for every league game or 3euro for only your teams games), 4 people in my family would willing pay without to much thought. We would all be very happy with the service.
Now with the current offer of 7 euro per game, we bought it on average twice each, which means 4 times by the end of the season. There is various factors why... going to games.. having to pay each time for us puts you off.... things come up during games times.... maybe you miss the first 30 min , so there is no point in paying the 7 euro ..... zero desire to pay 7 euro to watch other teams in the league without Dundalk... neighbour is watching (maybe has a dodgy box) more craic to watch it him ...etc. etc.
So we will give LOItv 112 euro, while if a very cheap season pass was offered we would have spent 400 euro. The costs for LOItv is still the same.
There is a reason why LOItv is an outlier in how it is run.
