    Whats your newspaper preference?

Just something that crossed my mind. Maybe its been asked before but - Do many people on here get newspapers on a regular basis? If so, which one do you rate highest? Do you have a different preference depending on the day?

For me on the most part it would be the Indo. Cant go wrong with it imo. Although I like the Star's junior soccer coverage. On a Saturday I might edge ever so slightly towards the star and on Sunday's its back to the Sunday Indo.

Rarely buy a paper, especially during the summer when there's other things to be doing. Winter I get the Turbine.

Brought The Village for the first time last week, and have to say I'll be getting it again. Alot of Vincent Browne's personal opinion, but at least he's not afraid to put it up to anyone. Look at the coverage that kid's death in custody has got since he published - too many of the other papers in the pockets of the police and politicians...

Also started buying the pheonix again, and actually tempted to get a subscription to make sure I get hold of a copy.

Normally get the Longford Leader too, if I think of it pre-lunch on a Friday (all gone by 2)
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.

hate the sunday indo full of pr1cks like brendan o connor and dion fanning
, o connor comes across as the smuggest man alive when writing his articles . he had one laying into the mc cauls after eurovision which was highly unfair and they were an easy target. also they seem to have an agenda with eamonn dunphy where all their journos are encouraged to have sly digs at him at every opportunity. all very middle class and self satisfied. eammonn sweeney is a good writer for them though even though he wasnt exactly pro gah in "theres only one red army" and now is writing about gah.

Normally buy the Star simply because it's the best of a bad bunch IMO. Have never bought the Sun since their shocking Hillsboro claims.

The Daily Record over here is so bad it's funny. Constant innacurate information and plenty of pictures with the wrong name next to it.

Read the indo online most days
Rarely pick up a tabloid, not the Sun because of the Hillsboro, and I can't see myself buying the Star after they ripped the pics off thepeoplesflag.com

I remember that so well, they ran a special over two days called "The Lorenzo Amoruso story" which came with a comical poster of Amoruso in a kilt suit. Most the Rangers fans I lived with slagged it more than the rest of us because it was more biased in their favour than Archie McPherson. I think the Mirror group own it.

We get the Indo & IT daily at work so usually have glance though them.

    Sometimes buy IT on saturday.

Buy sunday paper every 2-3 weeks. Rotated between Tribune, Observer & Sunday Times.

I don't like the Indo & would never ever buy the Sindo.

We get the Irish Times at home and in work, though I actually prefer to get the Examiner since it included its Rest of Ireland supplement...

I never buy papers myself, just magazines like Zoo.

However, I do read papers. I never read NOTW because of their anti-Chelsea propaganda, even in the Irish version. My mother buys the Irish Times every Saturday and I usually take the Sports Section and feck off for the weekend.

Irish Examiner, when I can get a copy.
Sunday Business Post, on Sundays, obviously.

The Sun over here almost always has the eL results, which is handy if you're stuck. A quick read in the shop will do, you don't need to buy it.

Rarely buy, but if I do it's the Irish Times or the Examiner, depending on my mood. I've been known to buy the Guardian when I'm feeling particularly liberal.

Aye - their eL coverage is by far the best of any broadsheet, and arguably better than the tabloids too.

The Daily Telegraph (for sport rather than the politics I hasten to add) and the Sunday Independent (although Fanning is on my pet aversions list).
