Thanks Stu, very well run as always!

The only question remains - which would win between the two Italia '90 kits?

Thanks to all for playing. If I can get some goalkeeper kits, I'll try run that around the time of the autumn qualifiers!
Thats harsh, thats not a bad kit! Fair play for doing this, was good fun

It's unusual that we had a kit for the majority of that 2002 campaign that was the same kit we used in the 2002 World Cup.
I think the kit we had for the first game, away to Holland, we only had for a year maybe?

Usually when we qualify for a tournament, the manufacturer release a new kit for the tournament to cash in (1994, 2012, 2016)

A Super Cup between the home and the away?

Home for me, no question. It was a lovely shade of green (at the risk of repeating myself!) and I don't know why we've moved away from it.

    Home kit.
The rugby moved to a darker green a few years ago too.
At the moment, the rugby jersey is even worse than the soccer jersey, with all weird crap going on all over it.

I suspect you'd be hard pressed to find any team in the world whose fans wouldn't choose a home kit as their favourite?! There's an affinity to that colour that almost has to manifest as an unconscious bias surely?

Feel free to inundate me with exceptions to my barely thought out theory!

I have cushions designed in the style of both home and away shirts. I love them.

Let me know if that link works - a Sunday morning the day after moving back to Cork wasn't the ideal time to try and do this on a phone when Imgur wouldn't play ball.

They're not custom made for me but the company who produced them no longer do cushions for some reason (potentially served with a cease and desist?) but they used to have a huge range of club and international ones.

I think they were doing that to make them more recognisable (especially with the club ones). Had to treading on toes legally though. Picked up a Liverpool Candy one for a friend's birthday before they pulled the plug too. I've had them a couple of years at this stage.

We could rebuild this. We have the technology.

    3 minute MS paint effort:

I could do better when I have more time, and someone with more skills could do a better job again. Make an image like this, send it to vistaprint, and Bob's your uncle. They charge €22-38 for cushions of different sizes.

    RetroClassico do a similar effort.

I ordered an Ireland facemask from them at the start of the pandemic, and although it looked really well, it was bobbins as a facemask. No metal wire to mould around the nose so glasses fogged up within milliseconds.

I'm one of the married lads on the forum so football cushions are, like the Higgs Boson, something that exists, but only theoretically.

Cool stuff there but none of them are the 1988 shirt like they say

Actually, they found the Higgs boson a few years ago. Married fellas' taste in decor remains in the realm of Bigfoot.

Missed the final in the end, but like the Dubs these days, it was inevitable.

Cheers PS for doing this. Was a great bit of fun.

What it has taught me is that I think I prefer 88 now over 90, which is blowing my mind a little.
