Cork are good when they come to Tolka for a big game, or if they're winning

Rovers always bring the numbers, but for my money the handful of Derry fans at the FAI cup game were louder!!!
I am assuming that you are referring to the Cup victory of last year, as in this year's win there were 1300 at the game, at least 250 of which were Derry fans.

They're not great in general, but they'll give it a fair lash against Linfield.
They were terrible in the oval but down in flancare i thought they were amazing might have something to do with the fact that they had spent all day in the pub
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

I think Bohs and Rovers always made the best atmosphere in Turners X...

Reading Cosmo's messages above makes me laugh..when City fans get going at home they are very good..sometimes they can be quiet but i am sure the big all round crowd makes up for it..the shed is out on its own and the sound does not travel around the ground well so where we put away fans down in the corner its sounds fairly quiet..

"Terrible" best sums up our home support - even against Linfield.

The whole run down, wide-open appearance of the ground plus the matter of poor travelling support (and winning 14 out of 15 homes last season - air of inevitablity) contribute to a poor home effort.

Away, I feel we are untouchable.

And - yes - the combination of ale and a new ground (and - again - the matter of the 3-2 the previous Saturday) ensured that our trip to Flancare would be noisy.

Rovers still take the best numbers (seldom under 1,000) to Dalymount, and make the most noise[/ QUOTE]

Bit surprised that the figure for Rovers away support can dip to under a 1000 at this fixture.

To be fair, though. No-one takes near that amount of support to the Oval, bar Linfield.

Ports brought around 500 for the opening fixture last season. The rest varied from 4 (Omagh) - 250 (Ballymena).

As for every team in the league . Thats my point, I believe every team in the EL is crap at home (same can be said for in england and I hear parkhead isnt the same buzz as it used to be) (cork not being any exception), and i do get to alot of neutral matches aswel but obviously when any crowd gets going at home the place can be buzzing - just doesnt seem to happen as often as people would like (am i correct in saying there was a thread on the cork official forum not so long ago giving out about the lack of atmosohere).

I'm just telling ye from what I've experienced, no need to take any offence by it - sensitive bunch

When I say seldom, I mean more or less never. They nearly always take over 1,000, and if it were less, it would still be over 900.

What I meant, though, was with this being your 'derby', "over a thousand" seems fairly small.

Unless, by "over a thousand" you mean 3-4000

In the context of Rovers being homeless since 1987 (and haven't won a trophy since 1994), run shambolically, and on their last legs financially speaking for the past few years, the 1000+ (more than any other team) they bring to Dalymount is actually quite a lot.

    is that a compliment?

there was over 12,000 at the cup semi between us in 2002.

crowds at the derby are usually between 3500 and 6000 depending on weather etc.

the linfield glens games get huge support. where are they all the other 30 weeks of the year?

There was officially 6,000 at that cup semi but I reckoned it was closer to 10,000.

Bohs/Rovers attendances have been dipping as low as I think about 2,500 (that Saturday game last year). Until the fighting elements are controlled and the eL violence media frenzy stops, attendances aren't going to grow much for what should be Dublin's proper "fans' derby" (we'll stick to hating Shels as a club for a bit longer if that's alright with you?).

Unless everyone just gives up on the fixture as a football match, we get the 3 points and 10,000 well dressed punters pay in for a bit of Northside v Southside handbags.

I hear ya, chief .... but we were talking in the context of derby fixtures.

Although our away support is solidly 750 plus wherever.

No matter, Im not getting into some sort of penis envy thing here - just thought that 1000 away at a derby was a tad on the disappointing side.

I reckon St Pats have been the best in the Brandywell so far this season. Rovers not bad either.
So if you think Bohs are big read this. http://www.astronomy.ie/perpespective.html
