Sounds about correct to me although i'd have to query the passing training as I haven't seen city pass the ball since Liam became manager.
I met Mulconroy (Mucca) the other night after the UCD game, and had a fierce chat with him about city. some very interesting things.
He says that at training, all gunther and patsy talk about is playing the passing game. but the team gets nervous on the pitch and revert to the safe option of hoofing. He said it is very hard to pinpoint what is going wrong, the players know they are capable of playing any team off the park, but there is no confidence there at the moment. only results will bring this confidence back. playing at the cross is tough too, because it is so narrow, and makes the games that much more physical and less skillful.
He says that the shed shouting abuse at the players has a huge effect on player and team morale. it also adds to nerves, and encourages hoofing, the safe option again.
He rates gunther and (especially) patsy very highly, and Deccie, Skippy and Johnny C too for their commitment to the club, in training and helping the younger players along.
He reckons Ollie could make it at Hibs, says he is a different class to the rest of the city team, and his attitude and commitment to city is unbelievable. said that the city players would love to see him stay, but would love to see him make it at Hibs too.
He said the squad gets on great, even in the rough patch at the moment. He says he is fierce proud to be wearing the city colours. There was a chance he would start his first game gainst rovers, but O Grady passed a late fitness test so he played instead. But Mucca said he couldnt sleep with the thoughts of starting a match for city. Good to hear that players are excited and proud about playing for the club.

thats all well and good, but if the players arent doing what they're told, they shouldn't keep picking them!!! It would help if Liam hadn't got rid of half the squad and reduced his options to nothing other than the starting XI!!!! Again, the blame lies squarely at liam's feet. OUT

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
