    Wexford Youths Women 2021 Season

Wexford have signed Kim Flood who is ex-Castlebar Celtic, Dublin GAA & Irish rugby according to the club's website. A couple of other signings are also expected according to the club. It's believed most of last year's players are back with the exception of Blessing Kingsley who's now at a college in the USA.

Wexford have announced the signing of Lynn Marie Grant from local side Forth Celtic. Has previously played for Ireland's U19s and Universities, I think. Saw her playing in last year's Wexford cup final where she really impressed. Could make a big difference for WYW where we only need a touch of improvement to get back to the top!

Great news for Wexford Youths Women with Energia committing themselves to a three-year sponsorship deal. Had a feeling they might be interested with SSE sponsoring the WNL this year .....

Big move for former Wexford player, Claire O'Riordan, this afternoon as she appears to be picked as a forward for Duisburg against Freiburg. First time I've spotted that. Am I right that she's the only Irish player still playing in the Bundesliga even though she can't get a run for the Irish team even as a sub? Hmmm.....

Last-gasp goal by Claire O'Riordan for Duisburg in 1-1 draw against SC Sand in Bundesliga today (Wednesday). Duisburg may have needed a win to avoid relegation but still just about in with a shout.

Katrina Parrock has returned to the Wexford camogie squad for 2021. Scored cup-winning goal in Aviva for WYW. Best of luck to her.

McKenna Davidson, the first Hawaiian to play in an Aviva cup final, has signed for Akranes in Iceland where the weather might be a bit colder. Best of luck to McKenna!

Local Wexford reporter, Dean Goodison, indicating this evening that today's entertaining 2-2 draw with Peamount was Tom Elmes' last match as manager of WYW before he takes up the job of U16 national manager. Has been a brilliant manager for Wexford and could easily see him take over the women's senior job in due course.
