Irish TV only jumps on the band wagon after they start winning.
Well there is a very important international between Argentina and Australia to cover
RTE,the company itself is the best comedy they could ever produce
I suppose it has something to do with the Belgian tv rights, its still disappointing though! Fair play, Bohs are 1 up last I heard!

Hey, you can always watch Australia v. Argentina live on RTÉ in smoe meaningless competition no-one really cares about... Though I suppose the same probably applies to the InterToto!
Dolan keeps going on about how much coverage this league needs and there he is with his fat hole, sitting in the RTE studios talking about ****ing Argies v Aussies!! W-anker

Will the away leg be on TV?
God
Not a chance, I'd say.
ONE CITY, ONE TEAM.
Yes. In Belgium.
'Yes. In Belgium.'
What station is it on? Surely some pubs can get it

IMO 1st round of Inter Toto probably doesn't warrant tv coverage. Same could probably be said for 2nd round as small team in that too. I think if Bohs get to 3rd round are entitled to expect Valencia game on tv.
Sorry Cosmo. Didn't mean that literally.Originally Posted by Cosmo
I would assume that most countries would give a domestic team in European competition more of a lash on the schedule than our bunch of post-colonials, but it's just speculation. I'm sure there's a Belgian Dunphy and O'Herlihy, and Belgians may be busy drooling over French or Spanish football ...
Isnt there some sight that you're able to check if a match is on a foreign station .
Wouldnt mind watching the second leg

Here it might work.
Don't know if I agree, to be honest. Gent aren't a bad side - certainly bigger than anyone in, say, the First Round of the Champions' League (don't forget, Shels v. Hibs of Malta was shown live a few years ago). Bohs were in form and an upset was to be expected. Instead, RTÉ showed Australia v. Argentina in some meaningless competition - does this warrant TV coverage?Originally Posted by pete
The last three years (possible four now), eL clubs have gotten through the First Round of the InterToto, always beating better clubs (Bohs beating Gent in the First Leg this year anyway, Cork beating Malmö, Rovers beating Odra and Pat's beating Rijeka). I think this trend justifies TV coverage over a Confederations Cup tie at least.
Dolan stopped caring about our league when he started peddling our best players across the water for pittance.Originally Posted by tarzan1

All European games need to be shown live imo, it's Europe that really gets people interested in the league and I'd say the ratings for that match would have been better than say, Shels v Derry or something like that. Gent are a relatively well known side.
To the best of my knowledge the Belgian league is shown on Eurogoals on Eurosport. Also i think they have a good European history.
