What do ye think the important issues are from an ethical, medical,*legal and research perspective when scientests get cracking?
Just wondering, Im liberal enough but not quite the abortionest that Bush makes some scientests out to be

As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
I think Stem Cell research could be very important for treatment of organ failure and various diseases but cloning a human is a step too far.Originally Posted by Troy.McClure

Yeah scientists shouldn't be allowed to clone combos of pigs & sheep or other animals either.Originally Posted by Peadar
Pork chops and lamb chops from the same animal! Sounds like a wonderful idea to me.Originally Posted by pete

Scientists are evil. When have they ever done anything good for mankind?Originally Posted by Troy.McClure

Scientific advances at the expense of the few for the benefit of the many. Is it justifible? If you could find a cure of cancer by killing 100 people, would that be acceptable price to pay? If 100 is acceptable then is 1000? I guess that is the view of people that find the use of embryo's in stem cell research is totally immoral and wrong. At what point if you allow human testing is it gone too far. Cloning is curious. You could clone a copy of yourself, put it in storage and use the material from that body to use for transplants etc etc. Basically a backup body is harvest. Gross yes, but who knows if cloning succeeds, to what use would we put the technology too. Clearly religiously its a hotbed of contraversy. Can you clone a soul or a spirit of a person?
Look at Einstein and the splitting of the atom. A scientific discovery of massive importance which was the reason two cities were wiped out to rubble within seconds...
