Fecking amazing.
10 and a quarter metres per second.
Asafa Powell tonight broke the world 100 metres record by setting a new mark of 9.77 seconds.
The record came via a thunderous performance at the Tsiklitiria Super Grand Prix meeting in the Olympic Stadium, Athens.
The Jamaican, already top of this year's world rankings with a time of 9.84secs, shaved a 100th of a second off the previous record belonging to Tim Montgomery, who ran 9.78secs in Paris in September 2002.
Powell finished a disappointing fifth at the same venue last August when he missed out on an Olympic medal.
Fecking amazing.
10 and a quarter metres per second.
City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.
