It'll never happen unless someone suggests it !!
it looks like our u21 team will fufill this fixture, but can they beat kilkenny city after all only a few years back we had full houses for finals versus shamrock rovers and galway united.
will be lucky to get 800 monday night me thinks. Perhaps the club should reduce the admission price for the game, its been an expensive season so far.

I'll be at it anyway. My season ticket will get me in. I think City should reduce the price to €5 per adult and €2 per child just for that game. Otherwise at €13 they won't get much of a crowd. A big crowd IMO at that game will be 1200. I'd like to see it go above the 1500 mark atleast. If its a fine evening it will.

A good chance to play McNulty, Derek, Greg & any other bench players.

I know we wont but it will be no harm to give o'flynn and coughlan more match time.

Not a bad crowd around 1000.3-0 .George had a great game .He deserved to be on the score sheet.
Afaik BBM has been offered a new contract by Bury. Zayed would be a good signing but Greg going the other way? Can't see it myself unless of course Reynolds is coming in to take Greg's place on the bench.

Very solid performance by some of the fringe players. Thought Georgie was brilliant - his touches were superb.
Fenn also played very well (particularly in the first half).
Thought Kilkenny were better than Galway but the gap in class was huge.
My ratings and comments:
Nuts 7: One very good save in the 2nd half. Really didn't have much to do.
Lordan 5: Had a shaky game making a few errors on the ball that would have been punished by the likes of Shels, Bohs etc.
Benno (Cpt.) 7: Very solid and marshelled the defence well.
Big Derek 7: Started off slowly - had a few missplaced passes but as the game went on he really found his feet. Very aggressive and in the second half was like the Derek of old. Good to have "nearly" back.
Greg 7: Very solid also. A few missplaced passes but like a terrier when chasing loose balls.
Billy 6: Poached his goal well. Took a knock after about 18 mins and was struggling a bit as a result. Showed some good touches.
Georgie 9: What can you say about the man. His touches were outstanding, his control was mostly perfect, he laid on Flynny's goal with a peach of a ball and his own goal was Champions League standard. Yet still some people had a go at him the few times he lost the ball. LEGEND.
Kevin Murray 6: Looks very lazy in the middle of the park. Tough in the tackle though.
Tynan 7: Fought well. Seemed to enjoy the game and was tough in the tackle also.
Fenn 8: Excellent first half. His flicks were class. He combined so well to lay on the ball for Georgie's goal. Holds the ball up better than anyone in the League.
Roy 7: Quieter than normal but still a tough nut. PLays beyond his years.
Sub: Flynny 7: His gaol was vintage Flynny, running on to a peach of a ball from Geaorgie, rounding the 'keeper and slotting home from a very narrow angle - brilliant. He could be back you know!!!!
Nipper 6: Only on for a spell, but that was good enough for me to see him actually back on the pitch.
Thanks for the commentary CC. V. informative post.Originally Posted by Counting Crow

Benno was overall very good but made a few clángers and we could have been punished if another team.
Derek was good when looking to pass the ball, and defensively brilliant but hoofed it a bit too much to be fair ..... not enough games yet though.
Lordan ... did well enough, obviously would need a few more games to get to where he was .... understandable
Greg was good and played and passed better than before.
Georgie = Legend
Fenn = No far behind
Woodies .... dunno, alright i suppose
Roy loves being offside, even tried to argue a few blatant ones, Foley was poor aswell so he was doing himself any favours into the bargin. Looks good going forward though.
Kevin Murray **cough cough** .... pass (not as bad as Hartigan though)
Tynan, disappointed to be fair .... seemed to panic with a throw-in at one stage .... needs more games
McNulty, didn't have much to do so couldn't tell really
Kearney not on long enough, hope not too early aswell.
Kilkenny didn't look that bad to be honest. Fenn Georgie and Roy tore them apart at stages but for the most part they weren't too bad. And they kept going .... Scully was giving good instructions from the side line.
City might have made hard work of it in the first, Kilkenny had more shots on goal than us but the job done in the end. Very poor crowd.

Ticket prices were reduced, €9 good value, I thought.
Everyone played well enough, except Tynan, poor game and didn't show anything to justify keeping him at City. Greg, George and Fenn were outstanding, though it must be sad that City were only at half pace for long periods of the game.
3(?) more games to win this thing, so we might as well take it seriously from now on.
