Aberdeen amongst the clubs interested in young Jamie.

Peterborough linked here. They'd have to lose both of their last 2 games and Lincoln win all of their last 3 to lose out on automatic promotion.

I would think Aberdeen would be much of a sideways step. He turns 25 in September so he's not particularly young. I would prefer to see the Peterborough move myself.

A liitle older older than I thought...

You're right of course, a potential Championship move would be the better option.

More potential from being tested in the Championship these days ~ sad for Scottish football but that is the way it is.

Irish midfielder Jamie McGrath 'could have a pick of a number of clubs' https://the42.ie/5425389

Talked up by a teammate who seems resigns to losing him. Reading between the lines, I think it's clear this guy reckons McGrath is too good for St Mirren.

Jim Goodwin confirms that St Mirren have received bids for McGrath:

After the match Goodwin confirmed reports that the club have knocked back several offers for their Irish playmaker, and insists he won’t leave Paisley unless the Buddies’ deem the offer fit for the quality of their prize asset.

He told Express Sport: “We had a bid a couple of weeks ago and we’re very transparent with Jamie and his representatives.

“We want to hold on to him, as you can see by the fact he was in our starting XI against Dunfermline.

“We don’t need to sell anyone either, but we’re always fair to players that come here or that come through the academy.

“If a bid meets our valuation and it’s a club that Jamie quite likes the idea of then we’re not going to stand in anyone’s way to earning some big money at a potentially bigger club."

All seems rather sensible from Goodwin and the club. If someone really wants McGrath then they will pay and he will play.

The Scottish sun reckon Jamie McGrath could be signing for Middlesbrough: https://www.thesun.ie/sport/football...fer-st-mirren/

There's also talk that our own Connor Ronan will move to St. Mirren on loan. The Indo have it this morning: https://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...-40803578.html

It seems a move to Hibs collapsed late last night due to an admin botch up. Did he move anywhere?

Ten of his goals last season and both this time around were scored from the spot, but with Callum Robinson bang in form and on his way to a hat-trick, his polite request met with a negative response.
Ah! I hadn't realised so many of those 'goals from midfield' were actually penalties. Still, no harm to have a few peno specialists in the squad.

In fairness, he won a disproportionate number of them if my memory serves...

I think he’s been good in the last two games. Has a real chance to nail down a starting spot, which I imagine might alert clubs higher up the ladder to making a bid for him.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Goodwin is on record that there was at least 3 serious bids turned down by St. Mirren during the summer as they felt the fee (300k) was too low. One of them was Wigan and there are some other rumours at the top of this page. They brought Connor Ronan in as a contingency in case he goes during the January window.

As shown by the U21s who've dropped points so far this campaign with missed penalties.

Middlesbrough and Hibs. Hibs came in at the last hour trying to get a deal done when the Boro deal fell through. Sucks for Hibs because I can see more teams becoming interested in him and wouldn't be surprised if he walked on a free instead of leaving in January.

Going for a scan today but Goodwin said after the match it's his hip. Big blow for the lad as he would have started both internationals next month.
