Shamrock Rovers should be hammering these lads. They're awful.

Surely that's one of the greatest results in Welsh club footballing history? Plzen have made both the CL and EL group stages regularly enough.

Pulled 2 back. One in 89th and the other in the 95th

Really pacey drive in to the box reaps its reward. Frustrating with the probing around the box, crosses not being made count. There's a lack of guile there to unpick a belligerent defence, a little laboured Rovers this evening albeit with plenty of effort. When 6mins went up on the board they just drained and Rovers got the energy lift which happened too much in patches.

Couldn't put it better Nesta, perfect summary.

Ireland remain 41st in co-efficient table after the games tonight. The difference in Vitesse 89th minute equaliser meant we didn't rise to 38th. 2.500 points for this season is the highest we've had in a single season since 16/17 where it totalled 2.625.

One more win takes us to 2.875, which we've not seen since 06/07 where it was 2.833.

Well thank god for that young lad lashing in the winner off the bar. For a while I thought Rovers were going to spoil the party and ruin a great LOI week in Europe by failing to beat that lot. Job done in the end though. Fair play.

A great week for the league in Europe. A win against Greek and Albanian opposition, plus a draw against a Dutch team. Tremendous really.

Looking forward to Pineapple Stu's analysis of how it proves that we haven't improved in Europe at all and can't beat teams from leagues rated above us

    Actually we are 2.625 now:

Also, the uefa stats for this game show how totally one-sided it was - but with all the positive play still only 1 goal.

Trophy Manager - online football managment game - I like it - I think I'm getting obsessed with it though.

Galatasaray 1-1 St. Johnstone is another notable result tonight in the Europa League.

There were a few surprise type results. Breideblik and Aberdeen still in the mix for the Icelanders after their Austria Vienna result eg.

Just going back to Dundalk, how different could the season look if Perth had of been brought back earlier? Seems to be a complete failure at every level there leaving the managerial situation how it was for so long….

So is that a run of 11 unbeaten European games between the three remaining LOI clubs in Europe?

Yeah thanks.... I think VP has gone a long way to being vindicated for his unfinished business commets and return. Enough domesticly left to still improve there and some cup action. I just hope there is work off the field on tying down players that have shown some remarkable improvements, and cut loose the deadweight. As hard as it is you cant begrudge McEleney wanting to return to his home club while he still has plenty to offer and with a rated young coach and pal at Derry. There is no questioning his integrity!!

Yeah Perth isn’t everyone’s cup of tea which works against him probably but he’s done a decent job, albeit he has very good players in spite of how they looked earlier on in the season….

I’d say there was no other club McEleney would have signed a pre contract with only Derry, but Perth must be ready unhappy that he’s going….

happy with that 1 nil as these guys will have to come out and play a bit at home and we looked well able for them.
What a night for the 17 year old scoring a 91st minute winner in Europe
I was at the match and there was a great atmosphere considering only 1350 there.
Be mad if there was 3 Irish teams in the PO round although there could still be none.
At what point does our coefficient make a difference in terms of places or entry rounds?

Everything about DFC is dependent on them qualifying for Europe next season by finioshing at least 4th .
If they do and with there co efficient and seeding they are an attractive bet to put a decent budget into.
I think Bohs will finish ahead of them so a lot will depend on if Sligo keep going
