This no away goals rule is taking some getting some used to when looking at games and results tonight.
Thank goodness the Conference League is a thing.
At first contact, LOI champions Sham Rovers have thrown in the towel.
Really low quality in the posts here. Is this typical for a European thread? Is it just barstoolers who lurk and hope they can take a swing at an Irish team? Not even seeing any good windups which is the least you'd hope for.
Has Slovans' league even started? I thought some bright spots from Rovers but over it was poor. Defence carved open too many times and sloppy balls given away
Still two weeks away from the start of their league.
Same story the last two times we played them (Dundalk in 2019 and UCD in 2015) and they were noticeable sharper in the second leg, even though it was away for them each time.
If we score first its game on.
Its a pity Tallaght wont be packed out as i remember against Brann how the crowd really played a part after going behind but its a wafer thin chance at best
Anyone know if tonights' icelandic games are on icelandic TV.
Not paying to watch a poor connection when its free to watch with a VPN

I'm a bloke,I'm an ocker
And I really love your knockers,I'm a labourer by day,
I **** up all me pay,Watching footy on TV,
Just feed me more VB,Just pour my beer,And get my smokes, And go away
Any of the games today being picked up on any local tv station with an online presence?

I'd agree as a Rovers fan. I think Slovan have another gear and we don't at the moment. They defended well which is where I thought we might catch them, given reports of unrest in their camp. They looked organized enough to deal with us though and dangerous on the counter which will suit them down to the ground in the next leg.
It would require a huge amount of luck and a bit of an unlikely implosion from a team who has won back to back doubles. A lot of talk about them being in preseaon but their regular season didn't end until imd-May where they won the cup. Then they started friendlies in June so they aren't exactly lacking match sharpness or fitness in the same sense other league's clubs have when facing Irish teams.
But an early red card and a jammy peno or 3 and we are back in it......
Easy enough goal for Dundalk. I'd fancy Harps to have a go at these Welsh lads.
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.
Dundalk with a good move to go 1-0 up.
Dundalk unsurprisingly looking fitter and sharper. At the 30 minute mark I was beginning to think was this going to drag on without a breakthrough. But the possession game and patient approach is much easier to watch now.
Second goal actually went in there too. Can continue to try and keep the ball now and don't concede anything stupid.
Maybe someone could tell the co-commentator that Dundalk are playing Newtown, not Newport County. (He's called them 'Newport' seven times). Kind of basic stuff to actually get the name of one of the teams right.
