12-0 win in the end. Opposition were Spanish sixth tier - and Spain is regionalised from the third tier down. There's 27 divisions above that side. Sort of tenth tier in England

    Still, a goal's a goal.

Nice that he got his first senior goal
He's been an unused sub for a few games recently, hope he can get into the team this weekend

Nice stadium for a club at that level!

They had to move to Huesca's ground, who were in La Liga as recently as 2021, because their own ground wasn't up to the competition requirements.

Spanish is my 4th or 5th language but basically this...

We are giving the cup the importance it deserves and as the boss has already said, we have to go out and compete in every game and that is what we have done today.

Yes, well, it has been a question of trust from the coaching staff and my teammates and they have told me to be brave, to dare to play as I do and that's what happened.

Yes, yes, it is always the goal - to work hard, every day in the gym, where the gaffer sends me all the time <99% sure that's what he means> - and to enjoy most of all these minutes (on the pitch).

Thank you very much to all the fans who have come with a tremendous enthusiasm since we left from Atocha (Madrid train station) and thanks to everyone

I wonder how his English is. Have we ever had a non-native English speaker capped at senior level?

Apart from Louth people you mean?

I think a lot of football coaching is taken in English these days; easier for squads with lots of different nationalities. Could be completely wrong on that though

Sean McDermott was called up but never capped. Native speaker is an interesting concept, it's likely that Chio Ogbene only started learning English when he arrived here at age 7/8.

There's been plenty of 21s, ex-21s in recent years. Many would have expected Conor Noss or Ryan Johansson to be there. Apart from Finn, Garcia McNulty is another 21s eligible player who you'd think will get senior caps. We were chasing Paul Nebel and I think he was close to switching before Germany made a big effort to keep him. The 19s had Caden McLoughlin in their last squad. The 17s had Aaron Ochoa Moloney and William Martin in their last squad and Ramon Martos is with the 16s next week.

There were also some french born lads, Noah Jauny and Tom Gaston, Matteo Egan born in Italy.

Sent off for Getafe's B team today, for two yellow cards
Second yellow was for a dive just inside the box, at 1:36:00 below
Getafe were leading 1-0, so it was completely pointless

Not sure if red cards for the B team carry into the senior side, but if he played today he was unlikely to be involved in their game tomorrow, against Cadiz, anyway
