    Sligo 1-1 Malahide

Fair play to malahide they came and got what they wanted.
Some very good and very bad preformances tonight.
Faz as excellent, showing his quilities now but once again Gallagher was a joke. He got caught out every time with the high ball and wondered around the place too much. The sooner he is out of the team the better.

For anyone that likes good omens. The last time we drew with a non-league team (Glenmore 1994) in the Cup, we won it. Lets hope it happens again. European football and the revenue from the Setanta Cup. Would be very welcome.
    RIP JOHNNY

    Shocked

I cant believe we did'nt win. We dominated the whole match but just could'nt stick another one away. We deserved to win but fair play to Malahide, they caused an upset and forced a replay. Anyone here heading up to it(Tuesday at 6pm in Malahide's ground)? I cant see them beating us then though, fingers crossed.

    Malahide force Cup replay

Leinster Senior League side Malahide United took First Division title contenders Sligo Rovers to a replay with a late strike from Kevin Craven at the Showgrounds on Saturday night.

Craven headed Alan Corcoran’s free kick past John O’Hara 11 minutes from time to send the visitors into raptures.

Paul McTiernan had put Sligo in front with a close-range finish midway through the first half.

Malahide had started the brighter, with Corcoran going close, so their leveller was richly deserved against the lacklustre home side.

The replay takes place in Malahide at 6pm on Tuesday evening next.

They did not deserve the draw and we outplayed them for the whole match.

Malahide were absolute sh!te and deserved nothing, but as usual after a good bright day and a good evening for a game of football the team had about as much motivation as a team of geriatrics.

i dont know if we were unlucky or too complacent,it was a dour game, raf lit it up when he came on,we should have beaten them. What was the story with Kulsten taking the free kick in the last minute, was he a regular free kick taker at limerick???

kusten probably took it because we didn't have another left footed player on the pitch.sean gave them a bollocking after the game and took them to strandhill beach for a hard training session this morning so expect an improvement!

I didn’t think Malahide were all that bad. In fact they had the best player on the pitch – their number 9. He caused all sorts of problems for our defence.

I think Rovers showed a lack of urgency after we scored the goal. Incredibly McNamara stopped coming up for free kicks and corners – WHY, - he is our top scorer and always dangerous from set pieces. He only started to come up for frees after they scored.

After having a great game vs Galway, Foley was dreadful, O’Donnell did little and Gallagher was Gallagher.

Why is it that every throw we get we never vary it, it is always the throw down the line for a flick on by Flannery or not in the case of Alverez.

We should have gone for the 2nd goal, a game Tuesday does not help our preparations for an important game on Friday.

Like I said when the draw was made, Malahide will be no pushovers. The two front players are decent Wayne Griffin current Irish Amateur international and Austin Skelly (Ossie) ex Dublin City. Think Sligo will get a win on Tuesday.
