Finn Harps manager Felix Healy has revealed that the club have taken former St Mirren winger Mark Laughlan on trial with a view to a permanent contract at the Ballybofey club.

Healy, having seen his side manage just one win in 12 games, is desperately keen to bolster his squad in the transfer window for the remainder of the eircom League season.

And the Donegal club have earmarked Laughlan to fill the void left by the departure of long-serving wide man Paddy McGrenaghan.

The 24-year-old Scot is comfortable on either flank, and Healy has had some glowing reports from his contacts.

He said: “We have spoken to many sources about the lad over the past few weeks and as yet, there has been absolutely no negative response.

“That said, I’m going to have a look at him myself and we’ll see what happens after that. I’ve spoken to him and he seems to have a genuine interest in joining us.”
