I think that signing Hawkins was uneccessary when we already had Harris and Rogers as a steady partnership. Yes, Hawkins is by far one of the best centrebacks in the league and I am a big fan of his, but signing Kevin Hunt would've made more sense.
It seems that Fenlon might even be afraid to go for a settled 11 ( which I think he should do where possible ), and might feel that he has to play all the big names to justfiy the expenditure and also to keep them happy. I don't have a problem with him making 3 subs per game for the last half hour but constantly changing the starting 11 is a bad idea IMO.

Hawkins was their second best sining but shells got carried away by singing Gary O'Neill and Bobby Ryan because they already have three good strickers (+ one on loan)and a couple of midfielders who can do a job up front as for Ryan there is Ndo,Baker and other midfielders if injuries got really bad.

Yeah shels are probably lacking the up & coming player for the bench that still have hunger to play.

Yeah, that was in my pre-Shels days... I wouldn't like to see it happen again, I rather see my favourite clubs avoid each other. Okay, there's always one proceeding, but always one going out as well, and I rather don't chose between two 'loved ones'. I rather see them both go seperate ways, eliminating other teams ; let the one win the Champions League and the other win the UEFA Cup
