    CCFC Match Report :: Aertel

    CORK LUCKY TO EARN GALWAY STALEMATE

    GALWAY UNITED 0 - 0 CORK CITY ::

    In a Terryland Park thriller Cork City
    somehow survived against a Galway
    United side that should have claimed a
    notable Cup scalp.

    Davie O'Dowd and Billy Clery went close
    for the Tribesmen in a hectic finale as
    the First Division strugglers
    dominated.

    Three minutes from time Galway had a
    significant penalty claim waved away by
    referee Dave McKeon after Dave Goldbey
    appeared to be fouled by City custodian
    Michael Devine.

    The replay takes place at Turner's
    Cross on Monday night.

    Ulp!
    Or should that be GULP!
    How the heck did Galway United put in a performance like that???
    Should put a different complexion on your season.
    If ye can get your fans behind ye for this game, and ye put CCFC under that much pressure, there is no reason why the same can't be done against first division opposition.
