The Italia 90 jersey's winning margin will be confirmed later on today, and then the semis will get underway tomorrow!
Love Kerry but not for an Ireland jersey. The use of yellow or gold for Ireland always bugs me.
Tis' green, white and orange not green, white and gold.

00/01. I can't stand the pattern on the Italia 90 shirt. I know, sacrilege.

Surely that merits some sort of ban from the forum? Shocking statement. I can't take any post you ever make again seriously.

I wonder if BonnieShels would like to revise his opinion of John83 now?

It matters not though - a thumping 8-1 victory for the Italia 90 kit sees it safely through. We're down to four kits now - three of which span the time from 1986 to 1992. The first semi will go up tomorrow morning, and the second will go up on Friday. Stay tuned!

I wonder how much nostalgia influences voting, considering the bias towards one of the more successful periods for the team?

Quite possible - though I think the Euro 88 and Italia 90 kits are genuinely quite nice, while later kits have definitely changed to a darker shade of green, which I (and others) don't think works as well. I think the 2016 kit deserves to be at the semi-final stage too; it's definitely one of the nicest kits of recent times.

But we have our first semi-final going live now. This, I get the feeling, could be the final. But it's not. Ye have to decide at this early stage between the Euro 88 kit and the Italia 90 kit...

    Routes to the semi -

    1988-90
    Bt 2000-01 10-3
    Bt 1976-78 8-0
    Bt 1992-94 6-4

    1990-92
    Bt 2017-18 12-0
    Bt 2001-03 7-3
    Bt 2000-01 8-1

(Interesting to note they've both knocked out the WC2002 qualifying kit actually)

Both brilliant in their own right, but 90-92 has the edge for me. The added pattern is not too in your face and adds a bit of dynamism and the collar and fit are slightly better than the 88 shirt.

I don't think much of the Euro 88 kit tbh. I'm surprised it got this far and I was really disappointed it beat the 92-94 kit which is much better imho.

Votes can't be accepted from forum members who are awaiting suspension for very obvious awful tastes in kit, surely?
