Sean, just because im telling it as it is. I dont think we can compete against them just now. Attendance can put some pressure. I would give everything within my scope for an irish victory en 19 days, but a draw seems a very difficullt outcome, Dont get angry we need better players like before

if you play progressive football against a quick young team with the sense of a derby match, dont think that strategy is clever, now a tight 4-5-1 we may get a chance in a set-piece.

Roy Keane talked about the lack of class in the team.

we need a flair goalscorer like Stapleton,

some marauding wingers like duff, galvin and sheedy

clever playmakers like ronnie whelan liam brady or even hoolahan

we dont have those players anymore. I would have loved a home game vs Norway instead

Totally agree, and your assistant manager said on tv Andrews fellow, something like we are gonna see if this was a good or a bad idea after the event. He flips a coin. I hope this Parrott fellow becomes the new Frank Stapleton because he is the same type of player, but time will tell

My point is Kenny plays it openly, thats very easy to attack,
no attendance some no pressure factor for them, it is easy to perform, with flair players like mount, maddison, grealish, sterling, kane, foden and rice

They have 3 times at least our very best eleven players at the highest level, (randolph, coleman, egan, clark, stevens, doherty, mccarthy, hendrick, brady, mcgoldrick, connolly.) r it is just too much to ask.

The difference is notorious and outrageous. 4-0 or 5-1 for the Empire.

The only chance is playing it tight, all men behind the ball under this circunstances , go for a low key defeat, 2-0. Bad timing.
    Stapleton was not a dribbler.

This has the effect of turning the opposition twice, while the Irish players stay in the correct position to receive the ball.
Old move but it nearly paid off.
Too many players hitting the ball over the crossbar early in games? It comes down to an energy rush, they will always hit it harder in an actual match than in training. They need a type of 'softness' order, via mind training to get into the habit of underhitting the ball early in games.
Kenny give me a call if yer stuck, we'll bate them old Swinging Chariots and take their wheels home with us.
No harm but these are coaching tips for the u10's at the local club, long way from senior international level. I like your optimism though.

The main positive() for me over the 5 games consistently was how we looked defensively bar a couple of stupid mistakes here or there which I don't think are symptoms of the system.
So I want to see them against a strong top tier footballing side. I don't think it matters who we play at this stage scoring is going to be an issue for us, so let's test ourselves against a proper nation. If ireland come out without conceding against England it will be seen as a good result and a positive for Kenny.

That's forgetting about the whole base and logistical sense it makes from a non-footballing side too due to covid. I do feel Kenny probably didn't want England at this early point though.

Neither was Galvin. He weighed about 20 stone.

So the main plan test the team against a candidate nation, to check our defensive display, ok it is a risk.

Stapleton was a good dribbler until he got injured, was a complete player, on Galvin he was very fast i dont recall him overweight, he was the left forward with ricky villa and Ossie, very fast and strong.

Stapleton was never a dribbler, ever. Stop claiming otherwise.

They have Danny Ings and Callum Wilson ahead but a very solid chance. read and article , en el espejo irlandés, two hours ago about some irish folks asking for him to declare, after this hattrick, that is clueless this preppy fellow is gone.

The only thing that would make this game worthwhile would be if we were somehow to win and Rice, Grealish and Keane were all on the pitch.

I actually agree we should forget about Bamford, particularly as he's likely to get an England cap soon, but just want to shout my appreciation for the AC Slaterisation of foot.ie with calling him 'preppy.'

preppy posh conchetto pijos in Spain upper class people.

Dont want an upper class fellow to play for Ireland. When I envisage an irish soccer player, I think about someone who looks like Kevin Moran, Lee Carsley, Stephen Reid or Dennis Irwin to name a few, I mean working class heroes. Regular Joes. Tough people with good attitude. Football make you rich but you cant forget your roots
