Its just a friendly. England are using a lot of different players these days. Ok, their won’t be a crowd, certainly no Irish fans I assume. Just easier all round if the two lads didn’t show for this relatively meaningless game.

I have no doubt both will push to play and kiss the badge if they score.

A couple of points if I may:

    1. Seeding : Pointless friendly especially considering that it may affect our seedings for the world cup draw.

    2. Rats & Ghoulish : Will they play? Me thinks there will be a lot itchy trigger feet amoungst the current Irish squad.

    3. Poppy : Its the day after armistice...will the team be requested to wear it?

Oh yeah, forgot about the poppy sh1te. Makes it worse again.

I might start McClean in the game just for that( I wouldnt be upset to see him get 2 yellow cards for 2 hard tackles either)

I know but they will make them play, will pressure on that as well,

Thats the scenario I think this Kenny guy is a bit of naive, he may cheapen our national team in twenty days from today, plus he may place his head in the guillotine

I reckon the FA and even Southgate are too clever to allow that to happen. As i said England are playing a lot of players at the moment. The two lads will not be playing in the Irish game I suspect !

To be honest about it England could put out a very weak team against Ireland at the moment and still expect to do well !

Thats how the english operate things, can they make the irish wear the poppy symbol for the game?

eire republic vs england is never a friendly
it is like argentina vs brazil or holland vs germany, those are classic football matches.

The Europa League gets us nothing in the world cup cycle.

Does no one in the FAI understand how the world ranking ELO system works?
    Of course they don't.
    An absolute joke.
But Kenny is the manager! His final call.

Apparently the whole reasoning is they are afraid the English clubs wont release the players.
As if playing Bosnia away or England in Wembley were the only two options.

If we can't break our scoring duct against a team with Jordan Pickford in goal and Harry Maguire in defence then Kenny may aswell pack it in the following morning.

Good, you can post the tweets from English twitter users saying this, and if you don't I'll give you an infraction for an unproven allegation
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Unfortunately I think you're right. I do hope Coleman is back fit.

I'm trying to think who would be the worst English striker that would be guaranteed a place in our starting XI. I think we'd be looking down the divisions. And the same in quite a few positions.
