Hahaha. Shamrock … the bastion of truth in support of the FD!!!

To be fair Id say every club tried to suit themselves and no surprise really, clubs have always looked out for number 1 in Ireland. Shamrock voted against the Premier clubs for a couple of reason that I can see … one cause they wanted to try and make the inevitable * that was coming from winning the league a bit stronger. Two they wanted to get on the good side of the FD clubs so they might support the Shams B team, considering the FD teams had come out so strongly against their participation in the FD only a few months before.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Pity Rovers havent been thinking the same with more sharing and caring on the pitch this season!! Rotate any Covid League around all clubs in alphabetical order starting in 2020 with a newly named Dundalk FC (Atheltic Association Club of Dundalk or something), we can worry about 2021 later! Fair and equitable, standing up for everyone - problems solved.

The first 25mins sums up the story of the season. Bit slow from the start, then start looking confident, work a cracker, get lucky with a second - then concede softly and confidence that was building ebbs away. Derry then on top for the last 10 mins. Dundalk could have had another one but even then ye dont feel the game is in the bag. McMillan just doesnt seem to be able to adjust his feet quickly enough any more. Long way to go....

Big result for Dundalk in terms of getting to Europe next season. Can take it easy and play the under 19s against Pats now (please)

Des Curran is top notch on commentary by the way. Easily the best WatchLOI have got

Well that was as significant a result as any this season. Europe results aside, that was far more like us. Passed its pretty well, held on to the ball and dictated pace for a lot of the game. Most importantly though we didnt crumble under pressure. Derry had chances to get the equaliser but we did enough I feel. Good rotation of the squad and also getting some game time for players coming on and likely to start Thursday. Best game from Cleary for a long time, not just defensively but confident in carrying the ball forward. Sloggett had a quiet but Sheild's like game in that his work off the ball contributed as much as anything. There was just more substance to the much maligned 'fringe' players that started. Murray is improving and adding goals to performances. Dummigan being played as the versatile player he's supposed to be - 3 different positions in as many games. Generally though a run out for players is good ahead of a Thursdays game rather than getting stale on the bench.
Negatives - obviously McCarey not doing better for the Derry goal. McMillan may not be fully fit, he isnt near how he was able to press and just looks laboured in what he does - contrast to Hoban when he came on and held the ball up well and broght midfielders in to play. Gannon looks like he is going through the motions a bit. He did ok but doesnt seem to have the engine, maybe determination that made him the top fullback in the league. Some sloppy passes here and there but by and large a more complete performance ahead of Thursdays challange.

Hard to assess Derry, solid performance but could have hurst us more. Lack an edge similar to Dundalk, preseason like. While I'm certainly not expecting much v Molde, it was good prep tonight. Eases pressure on the domestic front and FG looks to be instilling belief again albeit no major change in the way the teams has played before.

Cant agree more! Even without a crowd it felt more like a covid uneffeted game, compared to watching the game v Bohs and the stacatto style of that commentary as if flipping through notes mid sentence. 'Piped' crowd wasnt overbearing either.

Bray did their own stream live from Belfield last month. Don't know why, but I'd rather that than no stream.

Watched the Bray stream v Drogheda. Picture quality was like it was just some bloke holding up an iPhone. The picture went blank just before Drogheda scored and again a few minutes before the final whistle. But yes - still better than nothing.

That's exactly what the Bray stream is, a lad on his phone.

Absolutely is better than nothing though. I know it was well appreciated by the vast majority of Harps fans for the cup game.

To be honest, I've been surprised at how decent the First Division streams have been. Bray's isn't great, but it's still watchable, and they deserve credit for putting it together.
