I said he is yesterdays man because it is quite apparant that he has no interest in playing EL football, so it's time to forget about him. You'd swear he was the only CM player left in the whole country. If you go back through my posts at the start of the season, I was one of the people hoping that he would be signed, I was also one of the people who lamented his loss 'cos our CM is so average. But since then I've been told by numerous people that Sweeney has no interest in playing at this level for the foreseeble future, so as far as i'm concerned he is in the past.

Brendan Hughes is no loss because he hasn't impressed this season, I think Keith Hartnett is a better player anyway.

He's been very unlucky though, most of his injuries have been upper-body\shoulder injuries. With Gaelic now resembling Rugby League it's no surprise really.

The problem is though that both Tommy and Keith play as attacking midfielders so the chances of the two of them lining out in CM is probably never going to happen........which is sad because I do think Keith deserves a chance to show what he can give to our midfield, if it dosen't work out then at least NOC can say you had your chance.........Not giving him an opportunity means we'll never know......

Ya but saying that isn't Derek an attacking midfielder & more often than not himself & Tommy have lined up in the center together.

Unless the rules have changed (and knowing our administration in this league they almost certainly have. At least twice. Since I started typing this sentence) you're allowed four overage players in your squad. Maybe somebody else could confirm this. Stephen O'Flynn, for example, played quite a bit for Cork City's U-21's as he came back from breaking his leg last year. So I'd hold on to Hartnett anyway.
The ball is round and has many surprises.

you're allowed four overage players in the squad, but can only have three of them on the field at any given time.
