Well if thats the case I'm 110% sure Doc will start at centre half. Kerr won't risk O'Shea there and Doc has played there plenty of times under Kerr.

I still don't think he'll drop O`Shea. Saturday's performance was about on par for O`Shea in the last 2 years and he has always been picked. Can't see him getting dropped for that contentious penalty.

Oh to have Richard Dunne available.

Anyway, some people said Kerr settled for the 2-0. If he plays Doc up front tomorrow I think it will show that he just doesn't have faith in Elliott yet.

I think this match will be trickier than more people expect. I really cant see how we will score more than two without the help of a direct free kick or a penalty. We are very poor on corners, firstly the delivery is generally very poor and when it is good there is nobody to head it. The pitch as already stated is very poor, the Faros are improving all the time and in these international double headers you usually see less goals in the second match. In all honesty we didnt carve open the Isreal team once in the second half, a good team would have scored atleast one without reply. I just hope we go there get the points and get the hell out of there and leave this banana skin for someone else to slip on, that day is coming.

Another thing I dont think anyteam has the right to be arrogent, especially Ireland, we should respect our opponents. Look where it got France.

I have the match on tape and just watched it again. Holland clearly gets the ball. He didn't just get a touch, his thigh runs along the ball.

It didn't look like that to me but I only saw it once, I'll happilly admit I'm wrong, gives me more things to moan about

I was takinging to some idiot Ireland supporter on the ferry to the Shetland, who stated that :

1) Kerr did nothing wrong, he had no option to bring on Kavanagh for Keane
2) O'Shea did not commit a foul for the penalty
3) Our draw on Saturday was down to just bad luck

Does anyone agree ?

3. Lets say an unusual set of circumstances conspired against winning not least Duff´s freakish goal line clearance. If he had ducked in time there would not be a whimper about Kerr´s tactics, instead a wholesale welcoming of a deserved victory and the likes of Paul Doyle would have to sideline his vitriol for another day.

I think you're being rather myopic. Ireland were already controlling the midfield so they didn't need to bring on another holding midfielder. Further, that sort of move is usually reserved to the second half and not 27 minutes into a game in which you have a 2-0 lead. Additionally, by brining on Kavanagh rather than a striker Kerr changed the entire complexion of the team. Duff went up front so our best winger was playing with his back to the goal. That doesn't make any sense. Kilbane pushed out to the left wing where he was not had a good game for Ireland for 50 plus caps. So we now have an ineffective striker and an ineffective winger to accomodate a holding midfielder that we did not need.

So no, the odds were not good that it would have been worse had he replaced a striker with a, god forbid, striker.

As for tonight, I can't see Elliot starting. I'm just not sure Kerr rates him.

Ah, now there is some proof that he isn´t a total idiot, he had the foresight to take the ferry to the Faroes (like yourself) considering how the fog playing havoc with air travel. :-)
