Tough weekend so far for our under 23s, a lot of 'learning from the experience moments', particularly for Bazunu, Travers and O'Shea. Manning and Cullen being left out of their match day squads (for different reasons) is a shame as well (neither are actually Under 23 now either) and we will have to wait at least another week to see Parrott in action.

Idah and Roughan were probably the main positives. Brighton tomorrow night should be interesting.

    Why was Cullen left out?

I'd say West Ham are only keeping him around in case of an apocalypse and the need of cannibalism arises at this stage.

Cassidy straight in the side at Accrington is a positive too, part of a home win V an early bookies favourite for that division. But overall a could have been better feel to it definitely.

I'd actually forgotten he'd returned from loan!

Neither Conor Coventry nor Mipo Odubeko are included in West Ham's U23 side against Chelsea in their PL2 game this afternoon. Their senior side is playing Charlton tomorrow in the League Cup, wonder if either will be included in the squad?

Jason Knight scored tonight against Preston in the EFL Cup. How far away from the senior squad is he?

Interesting in the Sheffield Wednesday game. I see Ciaran Brennan started and Conor Grant came on. Positive.

Did well according to their local rag. Joint top rating along with Windass upfront, which bodes well:

    Ciaran Brennan 8

The debutant excelled on the right hand side of Wednesday's three-man backline. He was solid defensively and repeatedly carried the ball forward to launch attacks from the back. Did not look out of place.

Cheers for that. I see Brennan is 20 and has yet to get a look in for the under 21s. Interesting few weeks ahead after that performance.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him included once the playoffs are out of the way. His goal return is really impressive for a guy who's known for such a high work rate, it's often one or the other! Have any other Championship teenagers scored as many goals in the last twelve months or so? (Disclaimer: list might be as long as my arm).

I still dont know what he is. Seen very small bit of this game the other day and he seemed to play left wing, other times hes been on right or central. Hes not overly quick or skillful, doesn't really seem like a playmaker but he gets goals.

    Seems almost like Hendrick?

Quick update on PL2 - unfortunately there's no reports on the premier League site so I have to go to individual clubs' sites, but here goes:

Ali Reghba opened the scoring for Leicester in their 2-0 win over Man Utd. Shane Flynn also played while Darragh O'Connor was an unused sub: https://www.lcfc.com/news/1830089/ci...running-in-pl2

It was Andrew Omobamidele's turn to score for Norwich's U23s against Reading. Giurgi and Hondermarck also featured, with Giurgi going close with a header of his own: https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2020...g-fc-14-09-20/

We may want Kelleher to be playing first-team football, but he apparently made some excellent saves while keeping a clean sheet against Everton: https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/aca...n-match-report

George Nunn was a late sub for Chelsea against West Ham: https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/20...?cardIndex=0-0

Ethon Varian has made the step up to U23s, coming on as a second-half sub for Stoke in their 4-0 win over Leeds. Ryan Corrigan also played: https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/202...-emphatic-win/

Corrigan was born in Liverpool, but has Irish citizenship - was he ever called into a squad?

I dont think he has ever been involved not even in training camps that squad lists were released for. He seems to have been spoken about for a few years as been eligible but i haven't seen any interview with him that discusses that, has anyone else?

Thank you. Nice to see louie Watson still at west ham I thought he was released end of season but obviously not. Seems to have had lots of injuries. Read a interview where he said his Ireland debut has been the highlight of his career.

Conor Bradley moving up to 23s football at liverpool having just turned 17 is impressive. Saw him in the victory shield 2 seasons ago playing as a box to box midfielder . That night he was noticeably uncomfortable during God save the queen along with 3 or 4 others one of which is a lad at Everton McAllister and Donnelly at forest both of whom also played their football with dungannon

Jamie Bowden out with an injury for a few months. According to this, he might have been going out on loan before this occurred
