I picked the uefa cup as an example, CL is the same - FACT!
    That is wrong - FACT!

The Champions League 1st round is an open draw adn the UEFA Cup is split into 3 sections.

Shels can draw 1 of any of the unseeded teams. Cork and Longford can draw anyone in the Northern Section.

I may be reading this wrong, but are you claiming Aberdeen have won the Champions League ? I'd check again if I were you. (And maybe leave off the UCD supporters until you've got your own facts straight )

    Well obviously you don't!

The Dons have never won the CL, the Gothenberg greats won the Cup Winners Cup in 1983 beating Real Madrid 2-1 and went on to win the European Super Cup.

As Poor Student has repeatedly told you the UEFA Cup (the competition which you played Aberdeen in, which incidentally they qualified for after losing the Scottish Cup final to Rangers by quite a considerable scoreline of 5-0 as they had to play an outfield player in goals for most of the game as Leighton got injured early) is regionalised and the Champions League isn't.

we have the same coefficient but you won something, we didn't.
as cup winners you're first in the pecking order.

is it just not the country co-efficient. corks and longford have same cos same country. co-efficients are linked to nations and not to clubs afaik

hopefully all teams playing in europe will do well and drive the co-efficient up further.

I wouldn't take Bert's rankings as official last year he had Bohs and Longford unseeded for the UEFA cup but as it turned out both sides were seeded. I would be more inclined to wait until UEFA release there own seedings as things have a habit of changing before the draws take place.

I meant the CWC, I support Bohs of the eircom league and I'm not bothered with British teams, that's why i wasn't sure what euro cup they won.
UCD fans still can't preech about euro football to me!

Bohsfan can you explain to us how you think it works?

What teams can shels be drawn against in the CL and what teams assuming they are both seeded can Cork and Longford be drawn against?

This pre draw idea of yours comes from 2003 and before when there was an open draw in the UEFA Cup and no sections. Then UEFA did have this pre draw where they made up litle groups based on regions. This was changed in 2003 and a more structured approach was followed and 3 sections made for the QR1 and QR2. The pre draw groups is now only applied to the 1st Round proper. Shels last year were in a group with Lille Lazio Aberdeen (I think?) and another 2 clubs for the 1st Round draw.

QR1 QR2 and QR3 of the Champions League was an open draw of seeds V unseeds!!

Bohsfan - is it not possible for a UCD fan to know anything about European football? Once you support UCD you can't take your eyes out of the Eircom league? Cop on.

I really forgot (for some stupid reason) how dam petty Shels fans actually are!
I stand what I said is the truth, if you think otherwise then fine.
I've outlined my reasons, why do you constantly have to post up white, when I say black? Have you nothing better to do? Like study for your junior for example.
I suppose that's the Shelbourne way, being able to turn a small point into a few pages of agrument, the cigarette smuggler has thought you well!!

That is the second time you've made that statement to 2 different people. I'd say you're 14 max, which is why I'll leave this thread alone.

Actually, you probably did your juniour cert last year and are better than those doing it this year. So, 15 max.

BohsFans I'll leave it at that. You've embarrassed yourself beyond all reason in this thread. Doesn't matter if I support Shelbourne, UCD or Belgrove it takes knowledge and research to understand these things. You don't know what you're on about and have been proved so. Quit while you're.....no, wait, just quit.
