3rd biggest club in Scotland, I reckon anyway. A great opportunity.

After a promising start, not looking good for Jim at Aberdeen. 4-0 down away to Hibs, mass exodus of away support at half time. Unfortunately his number may be up. Disappointing as I was really hoping he would do well

Hard ~ Well impossible to survive this ~ Football management is a tough business.

I'm just shocked they even left him in charge after losing to a junior team from the sixth or seventh tier in the Scottish cup.

Sacked. Something has gone desperately sour on the basis of that result in the Cup and now that hammering by Hibs.

These results would suggest that the players wanted Goodwin out ~ They are unbelievably bad results.

He'll defo get the Irish job now!

Well he fits one of the main criteria that will suit the FAI, cheap and available.

I hope he bounces back ~ we need as many Irish managers doing well as possible.

I see a Lee sharpe was his assistant ~ Is it the famous / infamous Manchester United Lee Sharp ?

    And failed in Scotland?

Different Lee Sharp. He's Scottish and was coaching at Alloa when Goodwin became manager. Was his assistant at St Mirren too.

It's rare to see a club collapse so badly in such a short space of time. He was doing fine with them up until the World Cup break, then they just fell apart afterwards. He had done well with Alloa and St Mirren and was doing OK with Aberdeen initially. But this is a massive setback for him. Will be interesting to see who takes him on next, whether he will get another SPL job or needs to step back down to a lower league. A lot of reputational damage done in the last month though.

honestly, asking him to step in as coach wouldn't be the worst idea.

To replace Eustace? Think the last thing Kenny himself would want is an unemployed manager working so close to him. Makes it that bit easier to sack him and just have Goodwin step up. And Goodwin is probably gonna be looking for jobs at a level which is bottom SPL and has already stated he wants to be Ireland manager in the future.

At least with coaches double jobbing they likely wouldn't step up as manager but Goodwin could see the Ireland job as a way of getting better job offers if he can do a decent job. Wouldn't be surprised if the FAI approach Rory Delap about replacing Eustace. Suppose to be a decent coach, former international, unemployed, and they'd probably look at the Liam Delap side of it too. That having Rory could help sway Liam. Probably one of the angles they're looking at with Carsley too having worked with dual national players with the FA.

Good to see Jim bounce back quickly at Dundee United with Jamie McGrath. Off the foot of the table, winning 1-0 so far which will see them out of relegation zone
