It was a dissapointing effort from Dundalk and to be now 5 points behind, that's virtually a title concession result on the first game after the break.
Pats could've won that game and it would not have been undeserved.

Rovers away to Derry and dundalk away to bohs , could be 8 points 2 or 5 next weekend, I'm not ordering champagne yet.

Interesting that pats and sligo were very quick to close down their squads once covid hit, but invested again and played well tonight, whilst dalk and derry paid their players through the suspension of the league, and looked jaded. A lesson to learn there perhaps?
Hopefully Rovers do the bizzo tomorrow.
It was Benson's choice to leave at the end of his contract, lived in Dublin and probably has plans to return to his professional career sooner. McEleney under contract at least until 2021. Benson still a very good player, was sorry to see him leave. Two league titles and his 2 goals in euro 2016 run, both were class too, 1-1 draw away to Legia and 3rd goal v BATE to qualify for EL.

Dundalk were very disappointing last night, and lucky really to get anything out of the game, although maybe Sloggett should have scored 2nd half, Pats def should have gone 2-1 up first half mind.

12 games to go will mean very little space for any further slip ups, even if we beat Rovers at home, its only 3 points reeled in if pace can be kept.

    Definitely advantage Rovers for now.

They can't be that bad plus you'd have to expect a reaction

To be fair of the couple of games we had so far, I'd agree Dundalk were average, looked uninterested, Rovers today were good first half but shíte second, harps were better team second half, but are we missing a trick here, Pats were excellent against the current champions and very unlucky not to win, if they can produce a performance like that every week could they get into the mix? The Sligo v Derry match was a strange one too, seemed fairly equal but for the goals, Derry looked like they don't have a plan when they go behind, but at least we are back playing and can now torment each other

Great way to start the campaign. We are still desperately short a few bodies. As it was we’d a small squad heading into lockdown, with the loss of some players we’re really short on numbers. Some of the opposition fans complaining about the club making signings. If we hadn’t made any signings we’d have a 13 man senior squad which would include an injured MOC, we couldn’t fill the 18 tonight. Comments from some Shels fans online would have you think we’ve signed a new squad capable of winning the league 😂😂

Sheridan confirmed after the game Darryl Murphy has signed for the club but he’s 3/4 weeks away yet as a result of injury.

I’ve seen a lot of bohs and shels fans on Twitter similarly criticising pats signing 3 players but I’d assume they’re ignorant to the fact that 5 players have left the club. I’d imagine it’s the same with Waterford, they see you signing players and jump on it but as you say, they aren’t aware of your squad makeup at all

Only in LOI would you find it's the players who are loyal to the clubs, and the clubs showing no loyalty to their players. LOI is the football equivalent of that TV show "Stranger Thing's"

Liam Scales playing & scoring for Rovers II feels a little wrong, maybe not against the rules but a player who is clearly a senior player prob shouldn't be able to drop down like this. Dean Williams & Brandon Kavanagh also involved in senior side but not much playing time, should be some rule if you have played 3/4 times for senior side then cant play for B team

I'm all in favour of them playing as many first teamers as they're allowed. Except against us obviously.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Since when do Cork come out to Triple H's theme tune?

They can't get anything going against Bohs anyway, who should be ahead by more. First WatchLOI problems, camera is a bit dodgy.

Think they have the sound wrong aswell. The noise from the players and fans is higher than the commentary.

So after the 'first' series of games SRFC are definitely in the driving seat. The can afford to target the Dundalk game as a must not lose where we cannot slip up again and require a favour or 2 from elsewhere regardless of that key game. Pats will climb the table based on that performance and it shows what O'Donnell is about early in being a battling team. Irrespecive of the good friendly results Dundalk lacked a bit of urgency and composure. Big wins for Sligo and Waterford. Derry need to regroup quickly. Harps showed some spirit in Tallaght even if too litlle too late but it was enough to show that they are the best of the bottom clubs. Its a serious worry for Cork at the moment.

We're done for. Theres not enough quality in that side at all. We've scored one goal and conceded 13 in our first 6 games. Will we score 5 goals all season?

Cork were pretty bad but in saying that if Dalling hadn't made a hash of a guilt edge chance towards the end they could of come away with a point.

Bohs were wasteful and slack when they really should have had them well beat before that chance came about, Grant looks a great prospect as well.

Cork desperately need a new keeper and center half, McNulty and Bennett are long done but Bennett was still probably the best defender for them which highlights where they're at.
