Sligo so far are looking a lot better organised than they were in the spring. Used the time well and making Derry play in front of them. Theyre looking for the early long ball in to space for the striker to run on to but neat enough when holding on to the ball too. Devine wont be happy conceding from a corner, as if a manager is happy with conceding..

The new streaming service is a mixed bag so far. The commentator is a great addition to the service. On the downside it doesn’t it seem to work on smart tv’s I’ve tried it on a Samsung and a LG. There also seems to be a lag of some sort when play speeds up the picture goes a bit blurry, early days though. It’s a decent enough game so far , surprised how well Sligo are shaping up.

Works on my browser on LG tv and on Firefox on fire stick.
As Irishmen we dilute our sense of nation by depending on the English to bring us our balls

Derry atrocious. Will be nearer the relegation battle than the European places going back than. Sligo were woeful first match of the season. Far more fire in the belly there

Would we call that a statement win for Sligo? Derry very poor, little room for error in this reduced season.

Derry really bad. Comfortable win for us without having to do too much.

Dundalk will be recalling Kelly from loan cos we'll be pushing them out of the top 2 at this rate.

It really was a disappointing perfromance from Derry. Looked a bit toothless really. Sligo on the other hand seemed to know how they were going to play and made it work. Ye wouldnt usually associate a Buckley side with defensive play and hit on the break, but they were solid. Makes other games at the supposed bottom end of the table even more interesting.

Pats looking up for it. Criminal to concede so quickly after going ahead. For all the friendlies and with BCD and all it just shows the upping in intensity in competative games.

Rovers need to show up and do the business tommorow night. It's great to be watching football again

Dundalk might have a hope of catching Rovers because we'll probably beat them twice at this rate.

Why did dundalk get rid of Benson, yet decide to keep papier mache mceleney?

Interesting that pats and sligo were very quick to close down their squads once covid hit, but invested again and played well tonight, whilst dalk and derry paid their players through the suspension of the league, and looked jaded. A lesson to learn there perhaps?
Hopefully Rovers do the bizzo tomorrow.

Interesting that like in other leagues that restarted before us , we’re already seeing the same trend where home advantage has been diluted because of playing bcd- up to Rovers to avoid that .

As for tonight Pats very impressive but early days- as for Dundalk for me Shields as he was in Tallaght seems to of lost his way and quickly becoming a liability ?

Only able to watch the second half of Dundalk/Pats, but surprised by how toothless the champions looked. Obviously have to see how Rovers get on, but Dundalk have plenty of work to do.

What does BCD stand for? Broadcast Crowd Drone... or is it Bad Crazy Disease? For what reason were St. Pats wearing blackarm bands? What is the reason behind the one knee lark? Protest against the sorry state of a so-called-civil society called Éire? Why did Derry use German sounds over the PA? Is the FAI on a crashcourse to nowhere?

Just on the 5 substitutes being used, how come there are still only 7 subs named on the bench? I see in the other leagues they are naming 9 on the bench with 5 allowed to be made.

Everything went as expected in Tallaght,Rovers in 1st gear won handy,Harps with some really poor defending that will need to be better if we are to have any chance of staying up,second half a non event really ,both sides seemed to have settled for 3-1 at half time.
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
