I'd be curious to know much the slice is worth.
I'm going to buck the trend here and back the FAI. I think it's fairly obvious that if FD clubs are getting a slice of the WatchLOI revenues that they cannot then go and set up their own venture.
One of two things happened. The FD clubs in question are trying to pull a fast one or they're incompetent.
I'd be curious to know much the slice is worth.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
So are FD clubs effectively being paid to not promote their club?
That sounds very FAI in fairness.
FD may be getting a slice of WatchLOI revenue but I'm assuming they are setting up their own streaming & that has it's own costs. I think it is important that fans of First division clubs are not left out, so streaming at that level is important as these clubs want to engage what little support they have
The FD clubs should just be allowed stream their games BUT any profit made by FD clubs has to be pooled together with watchloi profits and then split between all 19 clubs or leave FD clubs go it alone without a cut from watchloi.
Yeah I've no issues with that either. Though I can't imagine there's a fortune to be made out of it.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.
I don't think there's enough to be made out of it to cover the costs.
For me, First Division clubs should have been told if they want to go ahead with their own streams, they'd forego their WatchLOI share, which, let's be honest, won't be much, and they'd probably make more off their own streams.

I thought the quality of the Galway stream and commentary was excellent. Well done to all involved

Both the main Wexford games this weekend (Wexford FC v Cabinteely on Friday (7.45pm) and Wexford Youths Women v Bohemians on Saturday (6.30pm)) are now sold out and you won't get in unless you're on the list. Wexford are planning a streaming service for both games with details below. Suggested donation for each game is 5 Euros.

Drogs live streaming their games for free on You Tube. Donations welcome, of course.
I watched Longford v bray earlier in the week, Drogs v bray last night and tonight I’m going to watch Cobh v Galway. The streaming is a sliver lining in these strange times. It’s great getting to watch other matches. I hope it remains post Covid as I could see it helping to bring in new supporters and help supporters abroad etc keep involved.
For anyone interested, Wexford are planning to have a stream of tonight's match against Drogheda which will be accessible through the club's website. There will be the usual request for a donation of five euros.
Good camera work. Liked the commentator too. And the online programme is a good idea. (Although I couldn't locate one for the Drogs game). Well done Wexford! (And yes, I did donate).
It would be interesting to hear comments on other live FD streams.
Drogs is quite good with decent commentary from LMFM (local radio station).
Obviously we're not talking RTE broadcast quality, but I think all this effort by the clubs is appreciated by supporters.
Good to hear that! You'll get the Drogheda programme here (scroll down and it's first on the left).

Thanks for putting the link up Forza, I always enjoy looking at other teams programmes, I see a good number of Scottish and lower league english league clubs are also found there. A great advert from Mick there.
