yep, it is strange to use public transportation without fear, and to go into a resturant without being checked. but it was said in the israeli papers that pro plaestinian groups are planing activities around the game - so i'll feel at home

    Wink Total Domination

We'll dominate the whole game. No worries.

    Ireland 2-0 Israel
    Keane(34)
    Duff (67)
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.

for some reason i think this match will be like Albania at home in 2003. we were lucky to win that. Kerr has said......its a game we SHOULD win but its not a must win for us. That sounds very cautious for a home game.

I'm going for a 1-0 for ireland but i hope its a lot more then that.

C'mon this is getting ridiculous. No manager in world football would say yes when asked if this game was a must win.

Why? If we get 4 points here we'll have 3 matches left. Win those matches and we'll win the group.

There seems to be alot of confidence around and this seems to be a good thing as there was alot of moaning voices (including my own) around after Suan's equaliser. Personnaly I think those that are postive are right to be so. Both teams played under par but I think it was clear we were the better side. I'm goin for 3 - 1. Thought you'd get better odds on 9 -1 on that so I'm keeping the dosh in the pocket and will be spending the extra on a few afternoon pints We will get a scare as that seems part of the course with us but we will see this one through and then its on to Weds where there will be Puffin Pie for everyone.

Our two European Cup winners won't be playing.

    I say we'll lose.

(some smartass is now going to ask who the second european cup winner is)

4-0 Ireland, even without Roy in the midfield. I am very confident about this game and I think that Duff will draw two penalty shots in the match. The Israeli defence isn't fast enough to handle him as we saw when we played them on their training pitch/full international stadium two months ago. They won't get away with simply hacking his legs every time O'Shea feeds the ball to him.

Fair point. If we can't beat Israel at home, I don't see how we could manage to beat Switzerland and France at home. I really like Kerr and I love following this team but if we can't finish off Israel at home, we don't deserve to top the group. I don't care about the Israeli hype: they're an average to good team that did little to trouble us in Tel Aviv except in the last minute. There's absolutely no reason why we shouldn't dominate midfield and the wings, no reason at all.

France, OK, but the Swiss are no better than Israel. In fact, the way Israel will set out tomorrow I'd be more confident of beating the Swiss. We raise our game against the bigger and better teams so I could easily see us beating France if we fail to beat Israel/Switzerland/Cyprus/Faroes ( ).

I can't stand the Swiss at this stage and can't wait to give them a bloody nose! Tomorrow won't be a piece of p!ss but I can't see why we wouldn't dominate midfield and how our defence couldn't cope with anything they have. Like most of us have said, they got away with a lot of negative stuff in Tel Aviv when it came to Duff. It was just constant and they won't get away with it in Dublin.

I expect them to be well-organised and difficult to break down initially but I still don't see anything more than a well-disciplined, motivated but very average team. Again, they can talk tough all they want but the only team they've beaten so far is Cyprus. That's the same as us but they've played us, France and the Swiss at home, games that you have to be winning if you seriously want to contend. They didn't win and came from behind in each game, showing a lot of bottle and spirit but not showing any ability to actually take a lead and hold it against a decent team and not plankton like Cyprus. We all know how dodgy the Swiss are - a very average performance from us in Basel earned us a 1-1 draw. They put two past the Israelis in Tel Aviv, who again had to come from behind to get a draw.

They're tough, that's for sure, and they have a load of nerve and fair play to them but we're a better team with better defenders and midfielders. No excuse for not beating them, as far as I'm concerned, much as I admire Kerr.

We have to give Israel a lot of respect, they've played France twice already and are unbeaten against them. We've a fantastic record at home and should score at least once - I think only Brazil have kept us scoreless at home - but the measure of how we've improved as a team is going to be what we do after scoring, play for safety and defend (like in Tel Aviv) or go for the killer second and third goals? Christ I'm nervous!!
