    Roy O Donovan

Cork City striker Roy O’Donovan has been called into the Republic of Ireland under-21 squad for Friday evening’s clash with Israel at Flancare Park.

The former Coventry City youngster was drafted in by boss Don Givens as a replacement for Cork clubmate Liam Kearney, who was forced to withdraw on Thursday morning.

O’Donovan, who has represented Ireland at under-19 level in the past, returned from England earlier this year after being released by the Sky Blues.

The 19-year-old has scored two eircom League Premier Division goals since breaking into the Cork side a month ago, including the crucial opener in the win over champions Shelbourne on Monday night, which sent the Leesiders to the top of the table.
    Indeed...........

Cork go top of league and lose 2 strikers in the same week.

That sucks should get their game called off.

Game had been switched to Monday anyway as Doyle and Kearney were in the original squad

Let's just hope we don't lose any more of them, and here's to Georgie getting a full squad call-up (if Kerr even glances over here).

    Congrat's Roy.
