    Lee Trundle clips

Apparantly Southampton are ready to bid for Lee Trundle. He's probably too old now to be expecting to get a callup but it would be good to see his skills at a higher level and getting more exposure. Here's a few clips.

Trundle against Macclesfield in March (right click and "save as"):

    and against Kidderminster:

Another Compilation including the famous shoulder roll:

Its a pity he wasn't picked up at a younger age as he has talent to burn and also a bit of weight to burn too.

Trundle is a quality player, he's proven himself at league 1 and league 2 level, and if he wasn't such a commited player, and attatched himself to swansea, then he would have been at at least championship level in england.

I believe he's had offers from clubs from that division before. However, I don't think he'll move.

Do you still have those Aiden McGeady clips, Eirebhoy?

Trundle looks alright but more like a playground show-off than a quality striker

He'll want to stay with Swansea though, what with the lovely new stadium and all that.

dont be daft!!!! although hes forever pulling out loads of tricks when hes inside the area on all of them clips all it is is a quick turn and a clinical finish, hes obviously a class act and should be playing at the highest level in england. swansea fans cant believe hes stayed with them year after year, shows a lack of ambition but never mind, seems like a nice lad

The only question that you need to ask is: would he be good for us?
I don't care if he play for swansea because you can still be a good international player regardless of what lowly team you play for. Kav proved this when playing for Cardiff, who were near bottom of the championship.
Bottom line is, we are Ireland not England. We do not have the luxury of an abundance of premeir players to chose from. We have to take a chance
on players regardless of who they play for. This is the only way to find the players who may make the cut.

Something about him doesn't add up. If he's as hot as everyone on here keeps saying why wasn't he spotted at the age of 16 and why the hell is he still at Swansea?
Loyalty has nothing to do with it. Most footballers would sell their grannies to get a bigger wage packet.
I'll repeat what I said to you before, just because a player isn't good enough for the first 11 doesn't mean we have to brush him under the mat and forget about him. Anyone Irish and I'll support them and hope them the best.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on LT.
Oh believe me I wouldn't. If I was in Brian Kerr's shoes McGeady probably wouldn't even be in the squad for the Israel and Faroe games.

hes not in the the squad is he ? thought he is with the 21s which i think is 100% correct for the lad at this stage of his career. let him develop with the u21s and celtic first ... lee trundle is quality hopefully this will be the move which will show that .. age should not be a barrier if he is good enough .

If players like jason byrne and alan mahon can get capped by ireland, then surely Trundle can.It also helps that he does actually class himself as irish.

He'd be handy for a late goal or two...better than Macken?

Totally agree.I never saw him play a full game so it's difficult to comment, but my assessment based totally on the clips he looks good.Saying that if he was that good why isn't he playing at a higher level? Well if the likes of Macken, the Doc and some other wasters that would take too long to mension get a cap.Why not him.As a matter of interest how old is he?

John Aldridge was something like 27 when he got his first cap. Age should not be the issue.

Aldridge didn't score his first international goal until he was 30. He then went on to get 18 more.

    Agreed....

He was late into the professional game. So was Ian Wright. Times have changed though.

It would be very interesting to see him at Southampton with some proper training and a dietician.
