Previews of opening League Cup games
The eircom League Cup kicks off tonight and so far it's the definition of low key. It remains to be seen how clubs approach it but the switch to a straight knock-out competition from the start and prize money of €15,000 for the winners, some teams will treat it seriously.

League Cup kicks off
The 2005 League Cup begins tonight (Monday) with four games being played, while three more take place on Tuesday night.
In Pool A, Limerick and Waterford United see an all Munster clash in the opening round. The home side were winners of the competition three seasons ago, and will be confident of causing an upset against their Premier Division opponents.
