I see livescore - desperate for any sort of football - has started giving results of the FIFA 20 Ultimate Quaran Team Cup (quarantine - get it?)
Couple of early results -
Cork City L-L Ross County
Derry City 1-2 QPR
Waterford 0-10 Angers
Burton Albion 0-2 Sligo Rovers
Oldham Athletic 1-6 Finn Harps
Portsmouth 1-3 Dundalk
So what's the craic with this - do you have to play with your own club? Anyone here involved?

Cork City 0-3 Ross County
Typical.
Rovers lost 2-1 to Central Coast Mariners. Interestingly The central coast mariners player is a professional fifa player, could be interesting to see if this encourages teams here to get more involved in this sort of thing. I'm lead to believe the money involved in it isn't insignificant.
I think we have enough on the wage bill at the min with at least 22 full time players !!!!
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Ronan Coughlan - neither handy on the field or with a stick.

The StayIntertoto Cup (get it) is next up. UCD (Liam Kerrigan) beat Nottingham Forest (Tyler Walker) 8-1 just now. Can always rely on students to deliver when it comes to FIFA>
Also Crewe 4-2 Harps, and Coventry 2-2 Sligo after 20 minutes when internet connection stopped play.
Have to say, I still don't get the FIFA obsession. It just tries too hard for me. The commentary is ****e, and the player movement is still unnaturally clunky. But I'll take 8-1 any day!
The AI in Fifa is horrendous at times too. It looks really good though..

This is likely the most accurate desription of FIFA ever!!
Ok this may show how much I avoid 'trends', dont know the significance of hastags or how to use them, dont bother with digital age chain mail challanges on FB and i'm certainly am no gamer, clueless on eSports - but I do have to ask, is this virtual competition of people playing FIFA Football against eachother online?
Yes.
Specifically, it's players from each club representing the club.
UCD beat Hamilton 3-2 today and should make it through to the knock-outs. Though Swindon, the last team we've to face in the groups, are one of the favourites and beat Hamilton 5-0.
BetVictor are doing odds btw.
Ironically, Cameron Saul has now had more appearances for Finn Harps in eSports, than he has had on an actual football pitch.
