Ok Liverpool didnt score against Chelsea but the point you miss is that Chelsea DIDNT SCORE either.

Dudeks save IS one of those things that defies belief. But it happens.

Talk of luck. Nobody has mentioned the bad luck Liverpool had all season with injuries - Cisse, Alonso, Kewell and Smicer all long term. Baros, Hamann, Finnan and Gerard all had intermittant injuries. Only Carragher I think remained injury free. With half of them fit for vital games LIverpool would have not lost as many games as they did.

And that was a bad thing ?

How many games did they loose in the premiership ? 13,14,15 or something ? one that form they would barely deserve a place in the UEFA cup.

They won the Champions League this season, but they were very very lucky several times during the comp, people might say you make you own luck, and that you need it to win stuff, but they just about scrapped throu the groups stages with a winner in the last few minutes, were 2nd best to a poor Juve side over the full 2 legs, Chelsea were robbed ! it was never a goal, and as for the 2nd half preformance from A.C, the less said about that the better.

Your a bitter bitter Manc fan surprised it took you so long to get started on it FACT we are THE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE and its ours for keeps now don't care what luck we had against Chelsea sure anyway Cech would be sent off if the goal wasn't given and a peno given as well also every team needs a bit of luck to win leagues, cups etc.
We played by the same rules as every other team in the competition not our fault Milan hadn't the bottle to see out the game at 3-0 just like the bottled the league as for your opinion of the Juve games ha ha ha ha ha ha what games were you watching????? I think you actually tipped Juve to win that game now its one of their worst teams its killing you Roo69 go on admit it its killing you!!!!! You had two games to beat AC Milan with all your great players you couldn't tough luck you had your chance. What did you think of Tiagos handball in january at anfield?????
As regards getting in next season if we don't we don't still wouldn't swap it for the moment Stevie G lifted the EUROPEAN CUP FOR THE FIFTH TIME last wednesday what a moment the kebas in the bul were just lovely jubbly.

what about them being lucky when juve did nt get a defo penalty and had a perfectly good goal disaloud or hit the post .... sounds pretty poxy to me

or when they did nt score against chelsea but still went throught again lucky

or in the final when the keeper saved from a point blank shot again lucky ...

no one is going to try to say liverpool played any of those teams off the pitch and deserved there win ... they got lucky
Every team that wins has luck, but the fact they dominated juve in the first half of 1st leg, and restricted them to 2 chances (and remember these guys just won the serie A)on their home territory shows to me they deserved it. and for that double save being lucky.... if it had of been given we'd be saying he's world class. so maybe, just maybe it was a world class save.

    Bitter, bitter, bitter, bit........

Rules? What rules? There was no rule in place for the winners of the Champions League, so as someone has just won the Champions League having not qualified through their domestic league, one will now have to be created. So we'll be there next year. The Premiership will automatically have 3 teams in the group phase, while Everton and Ushyted, will have to qualify.

Yeah, we were very lucky to win the Champions League weren't we? With a patched up side, we destroyed Olympiakos in front of the Kop with just one striker available, hammered Leverkusen with no Stevie G, bossed the Italian champions Juventus in the quarter-final, again without SG, grinded out a result without Alonso against the English champions in the semi, and came back from 3 goals down to win against last year's Italian champions. We deserved to win the CL this year, and anyone who disagrees with that is a liar!

If that's what we could do with a makeshift squad, what will we achieve when we have a squad of world-class players?

Jeez. Whoever started this thread is just plain daft. Just like FIFA messing with the format for the World Cup, making the holders qualify, UEFA has made the same cockup. A place should be reserved for the holders of the European Cup (CL, whatever), no matter where they finish in their domestic league. Every winner has the right to defend their title no matter what the sport may be in my opinion.
I don't like Liverpool, didn't enjoy how they played overall last season, but credit where credit is due....... They WON!!

Sensible post, but the point is that UEFA DID NOT reserve a place for the winners, and rules should not be changed whenever a big club wants them to be. Somebody has to lose out if Liverpool og in, oor at least someone has to play an extra round, and that simply isn't fair on a side that has done what it has supposed to do, ie win it's championship or finish high enough to qualify.

Well seeing as the CL has so many participants of various strengths, from so many nations, and some nations having several places, I am sure UEFA can find a place to squeeze in another participant in an early round.

saha is better than biscan whats your point ?
Kleberson and miller are in the utd reserves while my choices of kewell smicer finnan and gerrard are all on the first team all played in the final .

kewell v giggs !! both left wingers
smicer v rooney both attacking midfeilders
finnan v ronaldo both right sided players ( finnan plays on the right wing too i just dont know who plays on liverpools right recently ) gerrard v keane ....both central midfeilders and captians so all pretty similar

yes it shows my knowledge of the game is a lot bigger and better than yours , so no there isnt any point argueing ill allways win becasue i use a funny little thing called facts , you should try them

people on this site are the same they will have a go at some one tell them they dont have a clue then dissapear as soon as they are proven wrong .

i use players from liverpools first team v players from utd first team in the same position . kewell giggs left wing , finnan ronaldo ,right wing , rooney smicer attacking midfeilder s, gerrard and keane , captains and central midfeilders .this is what you do when compairing players .
