Would you discuss what your wages are on here out of interest or otherwise??

Lads whatever about the players wages. Im losing a packet every week on Sligo. They keep on drawing.

Ever since I saw them at Cobh about a month ago, i said, this is the best team in the division.

Should I keep the faith or what?

Hopefully it will start tonight in against Dundalk in er monaghan

If we can bag three points here, it would set us up for Galway, where nothing less than 3 points will do. It's ok to be drawing here but they have to be back up with a win.

It shouldnt be overlooked that Rovers are playing on Tuesday against Harps and Friday against Galway. Should the manager actually play a full team against harps ? i'd prefer 3 points against galway to be honest.

Saturday was the first game i was at this season and to be honest Rovers totally outclassed Dublin City. They were robbed by a ref with an obvious chip on his shoulder. I don't know what they're like away from home though.

That Kimono Low fella has got a fantastic left foot, quality player. Pity Flannery is so slow. McT looks very dangerous.

As for wages, I haven't got a clue. Does anybody know what DOR was on last year. I heard it was a stupidly high amount.

Your statement about the players wages applies to the manager too. If rovers are operating profitably, clearing the debt and progressing then it doesnt really matter what way the overall wage budget is proportioned. The club doesnt have to tell us anything re: individuals contracts. Even being a shareholder wont give you access to that info. Rovers have a standard budget to cover their expenses for a season. So if more money was spent on a new player for example, then that would need to come out of this budget which could hamper implementing other plans.

The cost of running an Eircom league club is huge. So to someone thinking a persons wages is very high, they have to realise the actual costs involved. A high figure to a supporter might be seen differently by those running the club who know the facts and figures involved in club management.

The trust will be trying to continually raise funds, which will be allocated to whatever members think is important. These funds are additional money for the club that isnt budgeted for so it's a big help to progressing the club. For example, the trust raised funds through a racenight and will be donating a sum of money towards signing a new player for Sligo Rovers. Something the club would probably not have been able to do without supporter help.

If people want to be informed and have questions they want answered then joining the trust when it's up and running is a very good way to do this. Hopefully the trust will be up and running shortly.

    Cheers

Speaking of the race night, where can we find out who were the winners on the night? I couldnt attend, but I bought a nag in advance. I'd like to know if I won or not.

I'll get the list and post it here redzer. we're still trying to reel in all the money as yet. We've taken time off from trust meetings since the race night - only had 1 meeting since then with the club. So that's why we've been slow in getting everything together. Our regular meetings will be resuming next week.

Anyhoo will post the winners when I have them to hand
