Dundalk didn't have to be great to hammer us tonight, were 2 up at half time doing very little tbh,a class outfit just but not the games that will determine our fate this season.
Shocking game of long ball in Richmond but a moment of brilliance from Lee Desmond to pick out Billy King in acres of space, who finished superbly past McNulty, gave Pats the 3 points. Shocking decision by the ref not to even card the Cork Forward who came on, after he left Younger unconscious after a collision. Baffling really. Pats grew into the game 2nd half and full value for their win. Cork offered no threat
In fairness they had two very good chances.Cork offered no threat

Two cracking goals from Waterford in the RSC.
The last coming on 94 minutes.
Hard to complain, poor stuff from ourselves. Looked unable to string a couple of passes together. Waterford looked lively enough. I know they lost the previous two at home, but they'll be in no bother playing like that.
I called a hammering on the show this week, UCD gave 3 or 4 of the goals in the 7-1 to Dundalk by getting caught playing out from the back and against Cobh last week they were caught in possession several times and Drogs were stewing off that defeat to Longford last week having had 20 shots and come away with nothing. Hammering was always on the cards here
I only saw the last 30 mins on skorlive and it was 3-0 up at that stage. Seemed DFC were already only using 3rd gear, think that's the first defeat at home for FH for 6 months or so? Been a decent home spin of results and without doubt the reason you stayed up last year.
Might head up for the summer away game, always liked the trips up there, something special about Balybofey.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).
Great trip , the only thing from experience I’d book a refundable room in Jackson’s at least two out of our last four games up there have been called off.Might head up for the summer away game, always liked the trips up there, something special about Balybofey.
We've had a great home record recently but kind of goes out the window when the likes of Dundalk and Rovers come to town.
Thought we were worth a goal first half but you will always be punished by Dundalk unfortunately,on a more positive note cracking couple of goals for Waterford!!!
Hoban's v. early goal definitely give us a great boost but Harps in the 1st 20 mins were on fire and Dundalk looked a bit flat footed trying to deal with them at times - but as the game wore on we took full control and won with some ease.Set-pieces Dundalk indeed!(as some here referred to us in previous weeks posts)
Always enjoy my trips to Ballybofey, decent wee town, great fans and decent pubs make the long journey worth while.
I thought 4-0 was a bit harsh. Dundalk a different class but in parts we played well.
Waterford's winner was an absolute wonder strike, beautiful, beautiful goal......
Irish by birth ,Harps by the grace of god.
So far this season I’ve seen
Pats
Waterford
Sligo
Shels
Cork
All pretty poor teams with Sligo being the worst.
Nice to get the win last night. Dundalk will hammer us next week.
Second time seeing Shels last night, first time seeing Bohs. Both very very average teams.
If Morris doesn’t recognise when to add a third midfielder and replace one of the strikers when the momentum shifts away from the 4-4-2 they keep starting with then Shels will struggle. 4-4-2 worked well in the first half but was blatantly obvious that the first Bohs goal was coming. Too late to change make a change!
Bohs are as they have been for the last couple of seasons, industrious and agricultural. Twardek the difference between the two teams, looks a very good player.
Overall the standard was very poor which is worrying for the league given both teams have started well and picked up points. How bad must the other teams be?
Was expecting a more open game last night but Cork didn't really come to play outside of the odd counter attack here and there (which almost paid off for them to be fair). Though previous results on the road for them this season might have changed their approach.
I thought we were alright, the second half especially we played some good stuff. The problem is obviously that we're blunt going forward which doesn't bode well when we're playing a side content to sit in, as we have done for 3 of 4 games so far. The goal was a quality sequence of play from players who have the ability to do it though, so hopefully it's just a matter of it clicking for us. Particularly when Benson is back who is obviously a big miss at the moment.
Thought it was a really poor game.Pats were by far the better of the two teams but as alluded to the toothless issue is a big problem.Couldn't believe how poor Cork were other than Joe Olewu who put in a man of the man performance for them and they should really have got an undeserved equaliser on two occasions which were their only 2 chances in the whole game.
