    Hogan Park

    Lads,

Have a friend looking for directions to Hogan Park, coming from Athlone. Anyone able to help him out?

    Cheers,

    Coming from Athlone:

Presuming you go thru Birr, Nenagh etc, once you go thru Birdhill, drive for approx 4 miles heading from Limerick City. You'll reach a newly constructed roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit, signposted Cork, Tralee etc. Drive the whole way along this bypass until you come to the end. Hogan Park is just to the right. Take the second exit off this roundabout, signposted Limerick and drive 300 metres to the lights. Turn left and immediately across the road theres a big supervised car parking area. Park there (at least its supervised) and the ground is just across the road. Ask the attendant for directions.

assuming you're coming in from the Dublin road (i.e. came down by Borrisokane-Nenagh) you can do either of

    1) come straight through first three roundabouts you come to after Birdhill.
At the fourth roundabout (Homebase TK Maxx PC World on your left) bear left onto childers road. straight through the next three roundabouts. Right after the third is Tesco/ crazy prices on your right where if I'm not mistaken you'll be parking your car. Hogan Park is across the road beside the housing estate. I imagine you'll see some bit of a stream of people heading in there.

    2) what you could do either is at the first roundabout after birdhill take the Shannon Airport/Galway/Cork exit onto the new outer ring road -stay on it the whole way until the roundabout which only has left (cork/Shannon) or right (City center) exits. take the city center exit and as you come up the hill you'll see the hogan park lights and stand on your left -but I think you'll be continuing to the traffic lights where you'll turn right and then left into Tesco car park.

    Hope this is a help
