Sligo Rovers v St Patrick's Athletic
    Waterford v Bohemians
    Shamrock Rovers v Cork City

    First Division

Galway United v Athlone Town POSTPONED
    Wexford v UCD

    Saturday
    First Division
    Cobh Ramblers v Drogheda United

    Monday
    Premier Division
    Bohemians v Sligo Rovers
    Dundalk v Cork City
St Patrick's Athletic v Derry City
    Waterford v Shamrock Rovers
    Finn Harps v Shelbourne

Any Sligo fans know how the pitch has been holding up with this weeks weather? Is the game likely to be called off? Hoping for an update from the club as early as possible, I still have nightmares of driving to Finn Park in 2015 or 2016 and arriving at the ground to see the floodlights were off as the game had been called off at 7:15pm!

Cork have a free hit at Rovers and Dundalk. zero points expected but a chance to bounce back after the Shelbourne loss...
Can't wait to get back into Tallaght.
Expect Bohs to win in Waterford, all the Stats had Pats winning bar the Waterford Goalie.
Sligo Pats is an important game for both teams.

Yeah of course nothing expected from the two games. I just want to see a good performance tonight. The more games we play, the better the understanding between the players and things will start to click. Would be good to catch rovers on the hop tonight and get something but don't see it happening.

No inspection planned yet but Sligo said they will monitor their pitch throughout the day.

Should be a good crowd in tallaght tonight. Rovers have invited about 1000 kids from affiliate clubs, and the 1st home game of the season gives the majority of our fans the first chance to see this 2020 Rovers team.
    Cork should bring 150-200, no?

2 Year Contract is evidently boycotting the First Division over Rovers II as well. Kudos, I say.

Hard to know how we'll fare. We've the bones of a good team - Osam, Collins, Dignam, Kerrigan, Keane, Keaney, Doyle, Mahdy. If Whelan can step up - 30 goals for Waterford's 19s last year - we'll be up there as Mahdy is a proven scorer at this level too. But all our keepers have left, and like last year, if we have any injuries, I don't think we've any real strength in depth.

Oops! First time starting a thread on here. You'll have to forgive me, I'm a Pats fan so have no experience in this first division you speak of

Galway's pitch is almost always excellent, but it's been raining like the movie "Day After Tomorrow" out West, and it's been this way for a whole week. Hope it goes ahead tonight but wouldn't hold my breath.

It’s been confirmed now Galway-Athlone postponed due to a waterlogged pitch

Not much anyone can do when the amount of rain falls that has this month. A real shame for any club to lose their first game buzz due to weather but can't be helped.

I agree. Not blaming anybody. Certainly the groundsman there almost always has an excellent pitch ready, but this is the wettest start to a year I can remember.

The season before last season it got pitch of the year. I am resigned to our game being called off too as of Tues night our pitch was in bits!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

About to stroll across Dublin and get the Luas out to Tallaght. Looking forward to this game bizarrely. Mostly cos I haven't been up since they added the new stand.
I don't expect us to score a single goal this season so hoping this game follows the teme of a half dozen I've seen at Tallaght over the years. Boring with almost not shots on target.

Wouldn't be surprised if our game against Shamrock Rovers B doesn't go ahead. Torrential rain here Wednesday and again today. Pitch will have a lot of surface water on it tonight. Doesn't help either that out ground staff will be out tomorrow morning with a couple of water tankers just to make sure we're not the first ones to play them!

Weird starting 11s for both Pats and Sligo from what I can tell. Not sure if we're five at the back or Desmond is in midfield, either way that's unexpected.
