    HELL NO, JOE WONT GO

This is from the Indo today ...... As far as i know there is a board meeting on Tuesday night aswell, .......... The FAI should definitely act now, "One Game, One Association" Just how united are we is yet to be seen. The ball IMO is in the FAI's court.

Hoops' Colwell has change of heart

JOE COLWELL was jolted to the core by the manner of Shamrock Rovers' FAI Cup exit at the hands of Dundalk on Friday night and announced his intention to stand down as club chairman.

Thankfully, Joe has had a change of heart and will stay on until the end of the season before assessing his position. By then, Rovers could be in Europe and the Euro1.27m grant cheque for the final phase of the stadium in Tallaght will have arrived.

Colwell has poured hundreds of thousands of his own money into keeping the club afloat over the past four season , most of it towards the new stadium.

One last push is needed and the FAI must act on Rovers' behalf to twist the government's arm for the money promised to the Hoops. If Tallaght falls, Rovers will fall too.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

never like to see the scum do well, but colwell is committed to the league and it's better to have him involved than not.
