Id be suprised.. but if he was to come and partner carragher in the centre id think they could do well
Well the season is over so we can expect a load of rumours. This one is a strange one though:
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/mediawatch...50523-1308.htm
Liverpool are preparing a 2.5m swoop for John O'Shea according to reports.
Rafael Benitez is set to sign the player as soon as Wednesday's Champions League final is over.
If a move did go through O'Shea would become the first player to switch between the two clubs in 41 years.
This story has been reproduced from today's media and is not necessarily the position of Liverpool FC.
Id be suprised.. but if he was to come and partner carragher in the centre id think they could do well
think he would be better with a move to villa or like it seems to be his level ..
No way O'Shea. He only gets games at Utd when someone is injured and because Fergi likes him but at least he does get a run.He would have no chance at Liverpool. If he is going to go anywhere it has to be a team where he will get first team football and that won't be the pool.
...according to 11-a-side.com anyway.
If true hopefully it's because Benitez sees him as a central midfielder or CB.
I agree, for O'Sheas sake, aswell as Liverpool.
Hamann must be on his last year, Biscan should go. They could also do with a centre back, so there would be CB/CM places available.

Why should Biscan go, he's looked good any time I've seen him this year. There were very high hopes for him until Houllier came along and ruined him. O'Shea is over-rated, I'd be surprised if Benitez was interested
*cough*

Seems like a strange one alright. I'd like to see it come off. Hyypia's almost 32 and Pellegrino hasn't looked very impressive. Centre half is the only position I see him in the long term and he could get the chance at Liverpool.
I think O'Shea will stay - with Ferdinand off to Barca in the summer, I suppose it will depend on who comes in...
If you attack me with stupidity, I'll be forced to defend myself with sarcasm.
O'Shea's style of play would really suit Liverpool. O'Shea is class, an excellent centre half, his only weakness is his own confidence, which does not inspire a manager's confidence. If he can get over his own self confidence and away from injury. I think he will break the most capped player record. Though if he start going down the Roy Keane road of feigning injury so that he does not have to play because his manager is on his back. I might have to change my opinion. Before the champions league run of Liverpool, I used to think Biscan was useless, but after watching him, his a very good midfielder, from a tackling/workrate perspective. Though I do feel he must get injured easily, as Benitez only seems to keep him for the champions league games
We seem to be missing something here lads - the chances of a player moving between these clubs is zilch. The emnity is too great - 41 years and counting

OK, I have to admit, I have another reason for wanting to see a deal like this go through:
John O'Shea is Honorary life president of the Dungarvan branch of the Man. United supporters club.(or muppets, for short)
Even thinking of the possibility makes me giggle

I think if O'Shea gets a couple of seasons first team football at centre back he will develope into an outstanding player. I'm a Liverpool fan and I would love to see them sign him.

He can play both positions. If Liverpool buy him I am pretty sure he will be played as a centre back and become and excellent centre back.Originally Posted by Tired&Emotional
Personally I think his best position is central midfield though.
I thought you had to actually have some positional sense and an ability to pass the ball to be a good midfielder? Obviously not............Originally Posted by carnstien
I really can't wait until O'Shea proves himself as one of our best players and all of this nonsense stops. There's gonna be so many people eating humble pie.Originally Posted by Éanna
I really hope he does prove himself but to my mind he hasn't done so yet.Originally Posted by carnstien
