Joe finished his playing career in 1999/2000 season with Monaghan, having played with other illustrious clubs such as UCD and Bohemians. He also spent a little while at a smaller outfit in the North West of England, where he played 2 first team games and a lot of reserve ones

Hes involved in the property business now I think.

Joe Hanrahan was with U.C.D from 1981 to 1985 winning an F.A.I. Cup winners medal and playing in Europe against Everton whilst at Belfield. He moved cross channel to a certain North Western club for a reputed IRP40,000 fee and his career there consisted off many reserve games and a handful of first team outings..mainly friendlies and testimonials. He came back to Ireland for the 1987/88 campaign and was with Shamrock ROvers for their first season as nomads.
He moved to Limerick F.C. in 1988 and his brother Peter joined him there from U.C.D. the following year. Spells at Derry, Dundalk, and Bohs followed before he hung his boots up as a Mon. Was involved in committee work at U.C.D. for a while shortly after his retirement and was involved in financial matters last I heard but that could include property ! Oh and I have known him since 1981!

Bet it was you that told him that his perm was lovely for all those years ??..Shame on you.. .
I saw him play for Vereker Clements for a couple of years, was excellent even back then, under brother Nick.

His younger brother Peter was an absolutely super player too. I played schools with him at Ard Scoil Ris before I got fat and had to resort to rugby and he got rich by playing for Bohs for many seasons.

They have a younger brother whose name escapes me...Gary maybe??...who got under age caps and was supposed to be the be all and end all, but never quite made it as well as his older brothers.
