    A Huge Thank You

I would just liek to take the chance to thank Shelbourne FC and their fans for making us "bluemen" very welcome tonite for the final.

what a day. soccer has won. people were thinking it would spark all kinds of sectarian trouble with linfield going to play a match in dublin.. but no. the shels fans and players applauded us at the end, and i was bombarded by them at the end with congrats and well wishes. about 80% of the ones we met after the match, wished that other teams would bring fans like ours to their games. non stop singing and no hint of trouble from what i seen...

very well done to each and every player and member of staff and every single supporter from both sides that was there for their team today. it made the final of a "silly cup" very worth while the trip to Dublin...

i just wanna say. THANK YOU once again...

Thank you Blue Daz for the compliment your very welcome.

I would just like to thank any EL league supporters who came tonight to support Shels,We are very appricative of this support.

For those F*cking scumbags who came to cause trouble,You can f*ck off back to whatever club you came from as your attempt to highjack Shelbournes night was a failure despite the fact we lost.

For those EL supporters who came to support Linfield but not to cause trouble,Thank you for putting a few more quid in Shels pockets

Obviously very disappointed with the result (although a 91st minute winner in the biggest football game of the weekend made up for that) but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the occasion.

Shame a few idiots disgraced themselves but it should not detract from a great night and the ebst team definitely won.

I was in thre main stand btw and there were lots of neutral EL fans supporting shels.

Shels will need to be a lot better come the champions league.

great to hear the eircom league fans who seem to 'hate' celtic, welcoming a support that made monkey noises at Joey Ndo, sang about bobby sands, sectarian chanting all the game..

youse must feel right at home..

Nobody has welcomed the beahviour of the minority of fans (both from north and south) who tried to cause trouble and indulged in such behaviour

Well played the bluemen. Congratulations on a great victory won in style.
You showed the rest of us how to deal with Shelbourne's alleged invincibles and you gave Ollie one massive headache. And you, or at least most of you, gave every EL fan a lesson in how to support their team.

well you can put about 95% of us in that section. i for one totally and utterly condone the sectarian songs (wether it be the sash, rule brittania, bobby sands etc. not a need for it in my opinion) and the racists noises, chants and abuse. there was no place for it at a showpiece final on national TV. it wasnt Rangers Vs Celtic, Northern Ireland Vs Ireland etc.. it was SHELBOURNE Vs LINFIELD.

but yes the support was superb, it was an amazing feeling to be there. Shels fans should be applauded aswell, they never shut up or stopped cheering for their team. they stayed behind them to the final whistle, and should be commended for their fantastic support. hopefully most will make the journey up for our pre-season Testimonial game for Pat McShane (if its played)

We're with you Blue Daz - it's just that your posting currently uses the word 'condone' instead of 'condemn' ! Luckily, we believe you that it's not Freudian...

Actually good point re the much maligned Shels fans - they gave their team great support and colour even when 2 down and clearly beaten.

Note when I say "much maligned" I mean for being quiet and almost non existant.

Of which we're neither, don't believe everything you read from opposition fans.
