Three teams from Limerick? Aren't the LDMC idiots really showing themselves up as the petty little pr!cks we all know them to be?

They're idiots, because any decent players that they have on their U21 panel will just be snapped up by Limerick at the end of the day anyway, seeing that the club is now on the up and has a good future. At least with us you can advance on to the senior team and have a chance of carving out a LoI career. What they are trying to achieve with this U21 side I don't know. UL is different, they have a massive University and sports scholarships etc.Originally Posted by deise deserter
and they want to see us fail. Limerick offered them cash some months ago to run an 18s and a 21s team with their name on them but just be affiliated to us, they never got back to limerick and now have decided to enter their own team well good luck to them cos as 4 2 defloor says any decent player (if not already playing with us) will be snapped up later. I have a list of players who are comming to usbut im not allowed say who they are just yet. We have some fine players already training with the senior squad and some played the other night in the friendly. That is all lol
It also doesn't make much sense in terms of timimg from the LDMC. These players have just finished their season - now they will stay in training and play in u-21 and before the u-21 season is finished they go back to the junior season again. No break at all. Not sure I'd be too happy to see any of my players involved if I was a junior manager.![]()

and that has to change as the limerick leagues pulled out due to non support from the local junior clubs so there are only 2 limerick teams in it now as the LDMC FAILED IN THEIR BLATENT ATTEMPT TO UNDERMIN LIMERICK FC![]()

Here's a news story on it.

The first rule of management is to only ask questions when you know what the answer will be. 51-8 is fairly significant. They must not have sounded out any clubs before putting in the team/proposal. And then have a vote one week before the season starts? The FAI should give them a rightkick up the a rse.

As a football suporter(both junior and senior) i am delighted that the ldmc have made an ass of themselves, (are we suprised), but for limerick fc supporters to be gloating over this is a bit rich. lim's in all thier various guises in the last 30 yrs have done nothing to improve relations with the junior football clubs in limerick. Lim's for years looked on the junior clubs as their little feeder clubs. If any player showed any promise he was snapped away.these clubs had put in all the hard work to help bring these players on and lim's, to the best of my knowledge, seldom if ever compensated these clubs. look at all the top dublin teams, they all have schoolboy setups. will lim's compensate wembley, corbally & other youth teams who they now are going to clean out.........?
I don't think it is gloating - I think it is satisfaction that an attempt to undermine the club by the junior mandarins has failed. There was no merit in teh proposal (as the vote shows) so the only motive must have been to get at Limerick FC. There have been many instances down the years of similar small minded behaviour from the LDMC, including the infamous rule precluding junior players from trying their luck with the senior set-up. The LDMC are like elephants in that they can't forget problems that occurred in senior soccer in the 1980s (over 20 years ago). Its time to let it go. But you don't get to the top in junior football by letting things go.Originally Posted by leather
Most junior football people in the city are very favourably disposed to the senior side and support it. It is the administration that see a rejuvenated club as a threat to their 'power'.
In relation to taking players - where do you want them to go? Very few eL clubs have schoolboy structures. A player in Limerick should see a natural progression from schoolboy to minor to junior to playing with the senior club in the city. The best ones will go abroad. Players should want to play at the highest possible level and clubs should not prevent them. And there should be movement the other way too if players do not work out at the senior club.
Down the years the senior club has not done enough to get the junior temas on their side but neither have they been helped. Also, there have been numerous regime changes in Limerick (City/United) FC and the LDMC seem to treat all the same. Given the new management at the club it would have been an excellent time to build bridges and get things going again for the better of all football in the city and county but instead we got the U-21 farce. And this doesn't look like it will change while the politburo remain in place.
Is there anyon ein junior football going to use this complete fuc k-up to challenge the heads at the top? I wouldn't hold my breath.![]()

Interesting to know that Wayne Colbert and Johnny Lynne have started
training with the 21 's if i do say so myself they are 2 of the biggest talents
in Limerick at present...the only way is up with these sort of youngsters ...
