City Cold but for ever a fan

No. It was the parents of a city player who saw it, and they told me. They felt ashamed the abuse from City supporters caused him to get that upset.

I'm going to add that to my list of lows - the fact that I didn't see that greedy **** crying. Would you be unhappy to see Reynolds cry? Theres not a huge difference between the 2 IMO.

I don't know, Ollie was all over the papers in his last season critiscising the fans and the shed, while he was the one player who at the time was adored by us.
He dragged his heels in contract negotiations which in hindsighrt was telling clubs to come and get him, he took the cash and has to put up with the consequences.
Anyway, he might have she a few tears early on, but he's well able to celebrate in front of the shed wearing his Shels jersey at the same time.

I don't dislike the man, but it's part and parcel of the game.

Shels dont get an extra €80,000 so I'm happy but to be this delighted for Linfield is just wrong. I didn't know who to cheer for in the end as I dont know if an extra €80,000 would make as big an impact at Shels as we're making it out to. An IL club beat us and made our league look inferior, a dubious IL club at that. Should we all be doing cartwheels because of this?

If its the one I'm thinking of it was against Cobh Wanderers..kick off was 11am on a Sunday morning!! i was in the ground at 10 and was the only supporter there until about quarter to eleven..remember at one stage during the warm up it started to hail stone and devine came up to the shed to me and started shoutin abuse at the lads..talk about drawing attention to the loner on her own!!!

Highs:

- Supporting my local team and feeling proud everytime i see eleven players wearing the city colours run on to a pitch.

- Being away from home and singing louder than the home supporters.

- Singing for 90 minutes in Nijmegen in an unreal stadium and being applauded by the home supporters as they left the ground.

- Players knowing your name and taking the time to speak to you

- The amount of young kids becoming interested in the club.

- The friends I've made through supporting City.

- Seeing the City youths team beat Corbally United in the Munster Youths Cup Final replay in Jackman Park two years ago. City were reduced to nine men and fought hard to win on penalties.

- Winning the U21 league two years in a row. Losing in the final to UCD late last year but capturing the Enda McGuill Cup as a consolation.

- Knowing that we have a structure in the club to be HUGE in years to come. We have fantastic U17, youths and U21 teams.

- Seeing how much the club has improved over the years.

- Kevin Doyle playing in our colours!

- City players playing for Ireland and its only a matter of time before a senior cap is gained..


Lows

- Supporters fighting amongst one another when we all want the same thing.. The club to succeed.

- Not going to my first game til November '98 (v Finn Harps 2-0) and therefore never seeing the City first team win anything major.

- Having to explain to people over and over again why I support my local eircom league team rather than a premiership team.

- falling at the last hurdle.................
