Highs & Lows of a City fan

Thought some perspective of recent events is needed.

Anyone want to share their experiences?

    (no particular order)

    Highs:
    2005 Inter Toto
    1998 FAI Cup replay
Gala in CL qualiifier in Bishopstown
Beating Milerick/Derry (i think) midweek in Bishopstown in penultimate game of league winning season - it kept our slim hopes alive

    Lows:
1990 League decider at the cross
    League decider in Inchicore
Gala in CL qualiifier in Bishopstown
The 1 away win season with Gunther

More specifically, the home game against Nijmegen is my personal high point. The 1-4 game at the RSC last season is way up there too. A third was the 3-2 win over Rovers at the Cross in 2003, when Billy Woods scored 2 against his old club. Rovers were within 20 minutes of a famous win over the auld enemy. They were shocked by a 3-goal spree in 9 minutes.

Low point: Ollie Cahill crying outside the ground after playing his first game with Shels against City during which he took shocking abuse. 2002? Can't remember the year.

    Highs:
City's League winning season in 1992/93 and beating Shels 3-2 in the RDS to win it! Paul Bannon got the winner if I remember correctly. Great team!!

Coming back to beat Cwymbran Town at the Cross in the UEFA cup.

4-4 at the cross vs Shels back in the 90's.

Dave Barry's rocket vs Bayern Munich at Musgrave Park. [The only bald plumber to score against Bayern Munich!].

1-1 draw away to Galatasary who went on to knock out United in the next round.

3-2 vs Drogheda at the Cross last season.

    Lows:
Some of City's so called fans chanting 'What a load of rubbish' after at the Portadown match the other night. [Reminds me of that Dylan song with the line: "You got an awful nerve to say you are my friend, you only want to be on the side that's winning...."] Whatever happened to the Spirit of Deccie Daly "Same time, Same place, next year" [on yet another final day disappointment].

    Dolan's Sacking

0-1 to Galatasary in the home leg.

Losing to Dundalk last day of the season when all we needed was a draw to win the League [1990?]

Listening to two City Fans do a good imporession of Statler and Waldorf [The Muppets] berating Dan Murray at the Portadown game every time he touched the ball - with fans like these who needs an Away Enclosure.

Jebus. I was trying to get away from the current debates to show that was insignificant given previous times.

Unbelievable petty, small minded. We are 3 points behind in the league with the top 2 to play!! Perspective anyone?
City fans getting on the players backs at games recently.
City fans on forums spouting crap about our team & our manager and city fans on other teams forum winding people up and talking nonsense.

Every time i log onto this site,I notice that you never have anything positive to say about your club. Are you actually a supporter or do you just log in 'To have a go'?
Get behind your club as every 'real' supporter does. Its not as if your club is languishing in the bottom half of the table and is drifting like a rudderless ship.

Dolan is gone pal,get over it and MOVE ON!!

No. It was the parents of a city player who saw it, and they told me. They felt ashamed the abuse from City supporters caused him to get that upset.
